Sunnyside Area YOU AND YOUR PET Betty Messer 344-2494 irreplaceable item in memories and sentiment. The boys jumped into the water in an effort to recover their possessions. Out of the three one boy was lucky. He managed to save the tackle box. The other two were not so lucky. "Have we as adults turned out to be such animals towards our youth?" If we have it's no wonder they show no respect to us if this is the example we set. I have yet to hear or see a police report where there are bad boys who are fishing. I would suggest the middle aged adult(?) person who committed this act to these boys, dig into their pocket bode of which many coins are overflowing and replace the young man's rod ana red. The sentiment the rod and red had cannot be replaced, but give the boy back his moments of fishing pleasure. Sunnyside police and the County Sheriff were notified of tiie incident. Joann Britt, president Pistakee Terrace Association. Woman's Anger We're always reading about juvenile delinquents and how bad children are today. Well now let's turn the tables and see how bad some adults (?) can be. There was an incident that occurred at the Pistakee Terrace Beach Park on July 27, 1977. Three young boys, ages 9, 10, and 11 decided to go fishing that hot Wednesday afternoon. They went home and returned to the pier with their fishing equipment in hand, each talking of how big their catch would be. Little did they know what was in store for them! They got themselves settled on the park pier and started to fish. Suddenly an outraged woman approached them stating the pier was hers. (This is the pier generously donated and installed by Mr. Kirk- patrick to the park.) The woman then proceeded to throw the one boy's gear into the river, tackle box, lawn chairs, and thermos bottle. Another boy's shoes and last the third boy's rod and red (which incidentally belonged to the boy's deceased father) an CONDOLENCES The village would like to extend its condolences to the LaMarr Williams family. Mr. Williams, long time resident of Sunnyside, passed away Sunday, July 31, after a long illness. He leaves his wife, Chris, four sons and one daughter and a grandchild. Chris Williams is a former village clerk. Friends and neighbors extend their sym pathy to the Williams family. KENNfeiL. COUGH If your dog suffers from bouts of harsh, dry, hacking cough, sometimes accompanied by a running nose and slight tem perature, it probably is a victim of a respiratory tract infection commonly known as kennel cough. Also known as infectious tracheobronchitis, kennel cough is an inflammation of the trachea (windpipe) and the bronchial tubes (branches of the trachea leading into the lungs). The name "kennel cough" is derived from the fact that closely confined animals in kennels, dog shows, and obedience schools are frequently exposed to and become infected with kennel cough. Infection by canine distemper and - canine parainfluenza viruses as well as certain bacteria, are thought to be primary causes of the disease. Kennel cough is highly contagious, and can lead to Now is the perfect time to start knitting caps and sweaters for the youngsters. They make lovely gifts for birthday and Christmas occa sions. . A knitted jumper and jacket makes a perfect gift for the 5-year-old granddaughter. Another splendid gift for the younger set is a matching cap and sweater.
