TIME AND | 5-9400 Referendum Committee In Action The high school referendum Steering committee, some of whom are shown above in a recent meeting, is made up of eighteen concerned citixens and staff. Committee members include Mel Prust, Lois Prust, Judy Zid, Amy Street, Roy Homo, Bob Mortell, Dave Benrud, Char Bromaa, Don Gerstad and Ed Cepulis. Staff represented on the committee include Supt. Robert Swartsloff, Principals, William Dodds and Greg Johnson, teachers, Ken Ludwig, Gloria Burke, Marilyn Munz and Sandy Vltale, and Business Manager Michael Kelly. The committee coordinates all the activities for the high school referendum including setting up presentations, coffees and staff involvement. Any interested citizen is welcome to contact Steering committee members with their concerns or questions about the referendum. STAFF PHOTOS-WAYNE GAYLORD Kiddy Kollege Program At "Y" The second five-week program for 3 to 6-year-old boys and girls known as Kiddy Kollege will be starting at the Lake Region YMCA Oct. 19. It will meet on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., on Wed­ nesday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The Kiddy Kollege program will consist of arts and craft projects, gym skills and swimming instruction. The objectives include development of locomotor skills, special orientation, movement per­ ception, small and large muscle skill development of each child. Children will be motivated and supervised by qualified personnel. Kandy Freund and Lynne Carlson both have Bachelor 6f Science degrees in Elementary Education. PAGE 5 - PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY..OCTOBER 14. 1977 Woodwind Quintet Is Featured In Concert Quintessence, a woodwind quintet, will perform at the Woodstock Opera House Sunday, Oct. - 23, at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at the Opera House Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 p.m. Reser­ vations may be made by telephone as well. All seats are reserved. The quintet is comprised of five professional musicians who are teachers and have performed with professional orchestras throughout the country. The members of quintet include Victoria Graef, flute; Hazel Nevin, oboe; Barbara Koostra, clarinet; Debra Poole, horn; and Peter Grenier, bassoon. Mrs. Gcaef comments about the unusual name, "Quin­ tessence means the essence of a thing, in this case our music, in its purest and most con­ centrated form. We prefer informal concerts which place more emphasis on enjoying the music than worrying about the formal attire, so the name seemed right. It represents our philosophy about our music. Jean Poisson Takes Audience Through Caribbean On Tuesday evening, Oct. 18, the Crystal Lake Kiwanis club will present its first program of the "Travel and Adventure Series" at 7:30 p.m. in the Crystal Lake high school auditorium. The public is invited to come aboard "Lte Bateau" with Captain Jean Poisson and journey by sail through the Caribbean West Indies. Day after sun-drenched day will be spent meandering to island gems, each one more intriguing and lovely than the last. The tour will visit the beautiful Greoadine Islands of Grenada, where the pace is slow and the atmosphere congenial. Petit St. Vincent, Palm Island and the in­ comparable Tobago Cays, Mayero, Mustique, Bequia and St. Vincent will be featured.
