A retired automobile mechanic, Mr. Peterson was born in the McHenry area, July 14, 1893, the son of Emil and Jennie Givens Peterson. His survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Bernice) Schaefer and Mrs. Vernon (Vivian) Ficken, McHenry; four sons. Charles M., Chicago, Melvin P., Buffalo Grove, Richard W. and Donald M. of McHenry; eighteen grand­ children; twenty great­ grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William (Lila) Jordan of McHenry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, in 1973, a son, Vernon, in 1943 and two brothers and one sister. The body rested at the George R. Justen and Son funeral home until Saturday morning when a funeral Mass was offered at St. Patrick's church at 10 o'clock. Burial was in the Church Yard cemetery. HENRY M. SMITH Services were held at McHenry Zion Lutheran church Saturday, Nov. 26, for Henry M. Smith, a McHenry resident 7or the past 50 years. Mr. Smith, who made his home at 3816 W. Main street, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, in McHenry hospital at the age of 97. He was born in. New York City Aug. 27, 1880/the. son of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith. Prior to retirement as a dairy farmer, he had been manager for the former Skidmore Farms. Survivors include his widow, Anna (Mueller) whom he married Oct. 16, 1923, in Park Ridge; tow sons, Robert of McHenry and Harold of Mc- Cullom Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Elsie) Fluger of Trego, Wis., formerly of McHenry; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Burial, was private with arrangements handled by the Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home. GEORGE H. MANNING • The father of two McHenry women, George H. Manning, 69, of 48 Faringdon drive, Crystal Lake, died Nov. 24 in McHenry hospital. He was born Dec. 12, 1907, in Chicago, the son of Joseph and Maude Mandrella Manning. The deceased was a retired manager of Retail Foods. He is survived by his wife, Harriet M. (Haynes), whom he married Oct. 2,1929 in Chicago; four daughters, Mrs. John (Marilyn) Willnecker, Oak Lawn, Mrs. Stanley (An- namae) Lezon, LaGrange, Carol Knor and Mrs. Robert (Georgia) Boyle, McHenry; a son, George H. Manning, Jr., Crystal Lake; ten grand­ children; one sister, Mrs. Rjiarion Cox of the Chicago area He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cathy Knor in 1974. Visitation was held Saturday and Sunday at the George R. Justen and Son funeral home. Chapel services were con­ ducted Monday at 11 o'clock. Burial was in Woodland cemetery. MARION J. LEIGHTY Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Nov. 27, in Pana, 111., for Marion J. Leighty, father of John L. Leighty of McHenry. Mr. Leighty of 1001 E. Third street, Pana, died at the age of 88. He was born June 21, 1889, at Tower Hill, thfe son of Louis F. and Samantha (Peifer). He was a retired railroad agent and piano tuner and a member of the First United Presbyterian church where he was a retired elder. He was also a life member of the Order of Railroad Telegraphers, life member of Musicians Local 798 and retired pianist for Pana Rotary club. He is survived by his wife, Mathilda (Kimlel), whom he married in 1911 in, Rose Township, Shelby county; his son, John Leighty of McHenry; daughters, Mrs. Edward A. (Hilda) Sidwell of Pana, and Mrs. Stanley I. (Ruth) Hudson of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. R. A. (Ida) Graves of Bradford, Pa.; five grand­ children and five great grand­ children. A brother and three sisters preceded him in death. Interment was at Tower Hill cemetery. ROBERT J. KAL1NSKY Whispering Oaks resident Robert J. Kalinsky, 62, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 27, at Alexian Brothers Medical center, Elk Grove. He had made his home at 921 Wiltshire drive, McHenry. Mr. Kalinsky was born in Chicago June 7,1915, the son of Anton and Johanna Kalinsky. He was a WW II Army veteran and employed as a machinest for an industrial company. He was a member of the VFW Tvurdy Post, Chicago, the McHenry Senior Citizens club, and vice president of the Whispering Oaks Community center. His widow, Charlotte (Seifert), survives along with a stepson, Henry Wulf, Sr., of Cicero; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three nephews; a niece; and a brother, Jessie Kalinsky of Chicago. The George R. Justen & Son funeral home scheduled visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. The Rev. Marshall Werry of the First Baptist church will officiate at chapel services Wednesday at 1 p.m. with burial at Chapel Hill Gardens, West, cemetery, Elmhurst. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McHenry Area Rescue squad or the McHenry County Heart association. NANCYETTA MONEAR Nancyetta Monear, 85, of 1008 Curran road, McHenry, for­ merly of 5705 South street, Richmond, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 23, at Highland hospital in Belvidere, 111. She was born Dec. 28,1891, in Jacksonville, 111., the daughter of Timothy and Harriett Boring Rowley. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William C. Miller. She was married to Earle Monear Nov. 9, 1939, in Waukegan and he died Feb. 6, 1972. The deceased was a former member of the Richmond Chapter 267, Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by two sons, Stuart Miller of Crystal Lake and Lyle Miller of McHenry; by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rennett Jordan; a son, Albert Miller; a sister, Neeley Gallagher, and by three brothers, John, Ralph and Rueben. Visitation and funeral ser­ vices were held Monday, Nov. 28, at the Ehorn-Adams funeral home in Richmond with Rev. James Segin officiating. In­ terment will be in Cedarville cemetery in Solon Mills.
