Coaches Ken Ludwig of McHenry and John Swenson of Crystal Lake will get a good line on their teams Friday night when the Tigers host the Warriors. Both teams appear to have more reserve strength than in recent years. Maybe some surprises will come off those benches. The Tigers under Coach Swenson have been slow starters, building toward top strength at tournament time. I don't think that will be the pattern this year. There is talent and strength on that Tiger team that is sure to assert itself right off the bat. That we like. However, if a coach has five men clicking along in a close game he seldom breaks up the combination until a weak spot shows up. Word is around the con ference that North Chicago will be the team to beat for the championship. Maybe a couple of other teams will have something to say about that. Wedunno. When North Chicago is good, they are very, very good. So the ball starts bouncing for another season of thrills and chills. The Green Bay packers and Minnesota Vikings played a game of football last Sunday with six inches of snow un derneath with more coming from above. Should have staged a snowmobile race in that kind of setting. This week the Chicago Bears are in Florida getting ready to play Tampa next Sunday. All the Bears have to worry about is sunburn.
