Rubenstein, 67, founder of the Foundation for Emotionally Disturbed Children, died at McHenry hospital Wednesday, Dec. 28. He had made his home at 3705 James street, McHenry. Mr. Rubenstein was born in Chicago Dec. 18,1910, the son of Samuel and Violet (Lev) Rubenstein. The deceased was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a Chicago wholesale jewelry manufacturer for many years, a former partner of Rubenstein Jewelers and a member of B- nai Birth, Covenant club. His widow, Janet (Mix) Rubenstein, survives as well as two daughters, Barbara Jo and Noreen Rubenstein, both! of California; his mother/Violet Rubenstein; and a brother, Joseph Rubenstein. Visitation was scheduled just prior to services Friday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m., at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home. Interment at Westlawn cemetery, Chicago, will be preceded by graveside services at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rubenstein Memorial Library foundation. ALFRED (SONNY) SMITH A native of the Johnsburg community, Alfred (Sonny) Smith, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Milwaukee County hospital, Milwaukee, Wis., at the age of 67. He had made his home in New Munster, Wis. Mr. Smith was born in Johnsburg March 20, 1910, the son of Peter and Johanna (Tonyan) Smith. He attended school and spent his early years in Johnsburg. On Oct. 21, 1941, he married Dolly Schilz in New Munster, Wis. The early years of their marriage were spent in Johnsburg until a permanent move to New Munster in 1943. Prior to retirement, he was a tavern owner in New Munster. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic church, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and a volunteer with the Wheatland Fire department, all in New Munster. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Johnsburg Community .club. Survivors include his wife, Dolly; a son, Larry Smith of New Munster ; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Lois) Cates, also of New Munster; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Martin (Rozena) Weber and a brother, Charles Smith, both of Johnsburg. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the McCarthy- Koenig, funeral home, 101 E. State street, Burlington, Wis., where recitation of the rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. A Mass will be offered at St. Alphonsus Catholic church, New Munster, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, with burial at the church cemetery. PAUL I. MORCK Paul I. Morck of 4315 Crest wood drive, Cooney Heights, McHenry, diea Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Crystal Pines Nursing home, Crystal Lake, at the age of 90. Mr. Morck was born in Norway Aug. 7,1887, the son of Nils and Ulricka Morck. A retired self-employed carpenter, he had made his home in McHenry for the past 19 years. He was a retired#1 fleer and 50-year member of the Carpenters Local No. 643, Chicago. His wife, Anna (Holm) preceded him in death March 30, 1971. He is survived by two sons, LeRoy of McHenry and Paul, Jr. of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Adeline) Beierle of Norridge, Mrs. Herbert (Shirley) Rowe of McHenry and Mrs. James (Ann) DiLenge of Prospect Heights; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Theodore and August, both of Norway. Thursday visiting hours were scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home. The Rev. Her man Graef of the McHenry Zion Lutheran church will conduct chapel services at the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Acacia Park cemetery, Chicago. VIRGINIA ROKOSZ Mrs. Virginia Rokosz of Chicago was taken ill and died unexpectedly at McHenry hospital Tuesday evening, Dec. 27, while visiting her son and family in Johnsburg. Mrs. Rokosz was born in 1912' and had just celebrated her sixty-fifth birthday Friday, Dec. 16. She leaves one son, Richard R. (Carol) Rokosz of Johnsburg and three grandchildren, Matthew, Renee and Norman. Visitation was scheduled to begin after 4 p.m. Thursday and continue all day Friday at the Malec funeral home, 6000 N. Milwaukee avenue, Chicago. The deceased will rest at the funeral home Saturday until 10 a.m. with a Mass to be offered at 10:30 at St. Roberts Catholic church, Chicago.
