MONSTER PARADE OPENS FESTIVAL TOMORROW NIGHT Pageant of Beaut]y and Pro-- gress to Wind Through Business Section. That the parade will not lack for stirring martial music is indicated by the fact that a number of musi-- cal organizations are going to take part, including the Army Band from Fort Sheridan, the Naval Band from Great Lakes, the Chicago North Shore Railroad band and the Shar-- vin Post Fife and Drum Corp. . A company of sailors will accompany the Great Lakes Band to this city and also will take part in the pa-- rade. At a meeting held at American Legion Summer Festival Headquart-- ers at the Hotel Waukegan last eve-- niug, final arnnx?ents were made on the routing and order of the pa-- rade which is scheduled for 6:90 p. m. tomorrow evening. Indications are that the parade will exceed in size and splendor any previously held by the Legion. . The parade project has received almost unqualified . support and willing co-- operation from practically every civic and fraternal organization, business house and factory in Wau-- kegen and North Chicago. Pictur-- esque floats and smartly attired bands will vie with brilliantly dressed marching organizations for the attention of thousands of spec-- tators. Many interesting and entertaining stage acts have been booked for the American Legion Summer Fes-- tival which opens at the beach aft-- er the gigentic parade. An inquest was being held at Grayslake this afternoon into the death of Mrs. George Brichetto, 45, of Chicago, who died at 4 o'clock this morning at the family summer home at Grvnlake. The woman had complained of feeling badly in the evening and had gone to bed. To-- ward morning her condition grew worse and the h=sband and a son went to Grayslake for Dr. Struth-- ers. When they returned Mrs. Brichetto was dead. Dr. Struthers said he belleved that heart trouble was the cause of the death, The entertainment program will be officially opened by dainty Ethel Marine "Fashion Plate of the Air'" who is one of the world's leading aeriab artists. Miss Marine will perform at the top of a 90 foot pole in a series of death defying hair-- ralsing acts in defiance of all laws of gravitation. Although she has been gone more than ten dayc, no trace of 16 year old Viola Bederski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bederski, who re-- side on a farm between Wauconda and Mundelein has been obtained. The other occupants of the car wer. uninjured. * The three were arrested by Mar shal Frank Druba of Libertyville last night. OBTAIN ROUTE TO SAVE HALF A MILE OF STATE PAVING Right--of--way on Route 173, Zion to _ Rockford, between the Des Plaines river and Rosecrans, was cleared up yesterday by the coun-- ty, according to R. M. Lobdell, coun-- ty superintendent of highways. This act will place the state high-- way department in a position where it will be forced to pave the halt-- mile stretch although there is one objector remaining. In this case, Lobdell pointed out, the paving can ::o laid and the ground condemned ater. Due to the cardiness of the con-- tractor in completing the Des Plaines river bridge it was feared for a time that the state highway department would balk on paving the last mile. The contractor on the road will be unable to move his equipment over the bridge as he started at the intersection of Sheri-- dan road and route 173. Lobdell feared, without -- having the right--of--way cleared, that the state department would revoke its contract for the half mile strip and leave an opening. Waukegan Camp Unanimous-- Iy Endorses Resolution and Votes for Fight Fund. Members of the Modern Wood:-- men, of the Waukegan camp, last night passed a resolution protest-- ing to a raise of insurance rates as approved by national officials and at the same tims voted to contri-- bute to a fund to fight through the courts the enactment of the in-- crease. This action follows the unanimous approval of the Gurnee eamp where the first protest meeting was held. After that North Chicago voted a similar sesolution. -- Libertyville members of the fra-- ternal lodge now -- are petitioning against any increase and the camp at Grayslake is said to be alarmed over the action of the national of-- Acials. Woodmen here freely predicted that -- Nortbherno lllinois . members would become so thoroughly arous-- ed that the officials probably would have to back up soon on their step that Aroused national resentment. Milk producers, represented by Don Geyer, of Woodstock, secretary of the Pure Milk association yes terday informed dealers at the Hotel Karcher that the Chicago district rate for the coming year and effect-- Ive Sept. 1 would be 10 cents more a hundredweight or $2.74, They were informed that the local unit of the Pure Milk association expected an increage in proportion to the one in Chicago. Those fighting the increase con-- tend that it is an injustice to mem-- bers who have be«en carrying polt-- cles for years. They argue that the new rate would prohibit these veterans participating in the fra-- ternity. The dairymen are to meet tomor-- row at the Karcher at 2:30 o'clock to decide upon meeting the new contract and to discuss the possibil-- ity of keeping the present retail price or increasing It. Producers Inform Dealers of New Rate for District; New Contract Ready. -- The farmers, probably, wil meet Saturday to be informed that the notice has been given the dealers. At one time the state department located the overhead crossing but one of the owners of the land, a 'man named Thorne, objected." Later Edward -- Lehmann agreed to have the route relocated.
