What a turn out this year, far too many to guess, but it looks as though it will be a real "rolling" season. As usual there were moans and groans from some and whopps and hollars from others. Since we were bowling just for averages, there were no teams established and. for tunately no win-loss column, but there were some SUPER scores. G. Hubbard rolled a 174- 249-190 for a grand total of 613, S. Blume totaled a smart 448; R Justen a 572 and E. Rogers came up with 517. R. Homo 182, R Glawe and A Beeldt 171, J. Hamilton 162 and S. Vitale 163 did a "number"' on the pins and will be back for more. Many new people joined us and the league welcomes them and hope they have a GREAT time this year Please note, no boo-boos listed, just wail till next week. RECIPE By Sarah AM Sberfdaa It's' smart to be a good cook, to make food taste it's best. For better flavored meals use garden herbs with a light hand. On your grocer's shelf you'll find rosemary, savory, garlic, basil, marjoram, tar ragon, thyme, sage, any num ber of dried herbs and blends of herbs. These herbs, whether fresh or dried, are easy to use. Cut up chicken, salt and pepper well. Melt cooking fat in large heavy iron cooking pan. Fry chicken until done. Add onions and pepper and fry until partly done. Add cloves, bay leaves, poultry seasoning, sage, savory and garlic. Cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Cover chicken with water and add tomatoes. When boiling add 2 cups uncooked rice. Cover closely and cook slowly for 30 minutes. If you didn't prune azaleas and camellias early this year, don't prune them now because buds are forming. Cookie dough freezes well for rolled and sliced cookies. Roll dough and wrap in a moisture proof wrapping.
