Court street, McHenry, exchanged promises of marriage Sept. 9 at St. Mary's church in Riverside, III. After the 2 p.m. ceremony, 250 people had cocktails and dinner at Chateau Louise in East Dundee. The bride graduated from Riverside-Brookfield high school and Triton college, and works as a data entry manager. The groom graduated from Marian Central and Marquette University, before receiving his masters from the University of Michigan. He is employed as an environmental engineer. McHenry Family -- Ih "Nutcracker One McHenry family whose work was seen in the "Nut­ cracker" ballet at the Wood­ stock Opera House last Christmas season will be seen on the &tage this year,.. In 1977. almost the entQre Bob Nowicki family helped in order to get the costihnes ready on time for the opening of the 24 performances of the popular Christmas ballet. This year the oldest two Nowicki children. Anne and Greta, will dance as children of Madam Bon Bon in a new carnival-like scene. The next. Regina. will be both a mouse and a tinkerbell. Jeffery will be a soldier. Only Mike will be left out. although at 3 he is also willing to participate. Since fall, Wally, costumer and the mother of all these dancers, has been busy sket­ ching. designing, sewing, and fitting about 120 costumes for this show Some of them were kept from last year, but even these had to be at least altered to fit. if not rendered com­ pletely unrecognizable. Victoria Nowicki. and friend. Katie Gregg, both from McHenry All of the costumes were^ ready when the show opened Dec. 15 at the Paramount theater in Aurora, where it ran until Christmas eve. Now the "Nutcracker" is returning to the Woodstock Opera House. Once again the costumes have to be fitted to the many Woodstock area performers who are replacing their Aurora counterparts. But both costumes and dancers will be ready when the show goes on the next two weekends of Jan 5.6 and 7, and Jan. 12.13 and 14. Performances will be at 8 p.m on all of these dates, with additional matinees at 2 p.m. on both Saturdays. Christmas party held at Rustic Harbor Those attending who enjoyed a family style dinner and lovely table decorations included Gertrude Anderson. Margaret Anderson. Frances Bonnelli. Zora Aldridge. The party continued at First United Methodist church where there were games with prizes, and a "white elephant" gift exchange for those who remembered to bring their gifts "Goodies" were served by the hostesses, enjoyment was provided for all. and the newcomers were warmly received by the membership. T.H.E.O.S. is a non- denomination group of widows (widowers are also welcome), formed to "To Help Each Other Smile". It tries to serve this purpose by lending support, understanding, love and fellowship and sharing ex­ perience. Members meet the third Monday of each month at a local restaurant for dinner at 5:30 p.m. and then return to the First United Methodist church for an evening of fellowship and fun Newcomers are always most welcome. The next meeting of T.H.E.O.S. will be on Monday, Jan. 15, with dinner at 5:30 p.m and with the location to be announced. Margaret An­ derson and Laura Norton will be the hostesses. Lakeland Craft Club In Temporary Recess The busy members of the Craft club of the Lakeland Park Women's club will be in recess until February; however, before taking the rest, they had a well-deserved -Christmas luncheon party at the Windhill Pancake house Eleven members able to attend the luncheon were Mary Dobbins. League suggests it is most beneficial for the expectant mother who is considering breastfeeding to attend a whole series of meetings to help her make an informed decision. Anyone who is interested in LaLeche league is welcome to attend the meetings and use its facilities. Nursing babies are always welcome. LaLeche league provides many benefits for its members, not least of which are moral support, mother-to-mother contact and help when needed. There is also a lending library for those who are interested. The Fox Lake group, which includes Johnsburg. Richmond and Pistakee Highlands, will meet Wednesday. Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. and the McHenry group will meet on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 8 p.m. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday and T h u r s d a y o f e a c h m o n t h . Topics to be covered at sub­ sequent meetings are: the art of breastfeeding and over­ coming difficulties: baby arrives; the >• family and the breastfed infant; and nutrition and weaning. FROZEN FRUIT-YOGURT COOLER 2 cups frozen Florida orange juice concentrate 2 ice cubes Vfe pint strawberry frozen yogurt 3 ounces frozen sliced strawberries Place all ingredients in blender and mix at top speed for 20 seconds. Pour into tall glass. Serves 4. VERY BERRY NO-BAKE PIE 1 frozen pound cake 1 package unfavored gelatin 2 cups frozen whipped topping % cup boiling water 1 package (10-oz.) whole strawberries, thawed. Reserve nine berries for the top. 1 package (10-oz.) frozen blueberries, thawed and drained in paper toweling. Slice pound cake into V^-inch slices. (You will need 7-8 slices.) Cut these slices in half crosswise. Place pieces with top crust around the edge of an 8-inch pie pan forming the crust. Ar­ range the remaining pieces of pound cake on the bottom of the pie pan covering it completely. Add boiling water to gelatin and stir until dissolved. Cool slightly and stir in strawberries. Chill for 10 minutes. Let frozen whipped topping stand at room temperature for 10 minutes. Fold strawberry mixture into topping. Pile into poundcak^-lined pan and decorate top with wedge-shaped sections of defrosted blueberries. Use reserved strawberries to separate blueberry sections. Serves 6. EDWARD t.
