> Cast In Rehearsal For First Johnsburg Musical ^EDUCATIONAL) Students at Johnsburg high school are busy working on their first musical production, "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying". Tryouts were held in early March and the turnout of students was very large. The show is a musical comedy about a man trying to make it to the top in a large business corporation. Throughout his struggle he is confronted with many ob­ stacles which could keep him from his job. The dangers he meets include the boss's nephew and several women. There are 34 students in the cast of "How To Succeed". The part of J. Pierrepont Finch will be played by Mark Arvidson. Mark has appeared in several of Johnsburg's previous productions. The company president, J.B. Biggley, will be played by Mike McBride. Biggley's nephew, Bud Frump, will be played by Mark Leslie. Tom Schoenig will appear as Mr. Bratt, head of personnel; and playing the dual roles of Mr. Twimble and Mr. Womper will be Pat Schifferdecker. Other male cast members include Tom Liston, Eric Olsen, and Kevin Kangas. The female cast is comprised of Gretchen Heidler playing the part of Rosemary Pilkington; Lynn Lupo portraying her befct friend, Smitty; and Shelly VonBruenchenheim as Miss Hedy LaRue. Pam Wroblewski is the boss's secretary. Miss Jones; and Karla Moe is Miss Krumholtz. Rounding out the females in the cast will be Gerri Kocher, Karen Szumlas, Kathy Szumlas, Judy Vyduna, LeAnn Wayne, Cindy Ahlert, Colleen Boak and Dawn Bentz. The dancers in the show include Johnna Baldwin, Vicki Buccelli, Jan Hayes, Jenny Lozynski, Nancy Lingeman, Margo Lund, Cheri Rode, Kathy Sargent, Lori Stetter, Jan Stetter, Nancy Switzer and Laurvn Wernauist. Clyde Fazenbaker is directing "How To Succeed' assistant director is Roger Zawacki; musical director is Hal Thompson, and Ms. Carol Rickert is the choreographer. Assisting with the many costumes is Ms. Judy Cam- melot and student, Diane Weingart. "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" will be performed in the Johnsburg high school auditorium Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28, at 8 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at the high school and from cast members. Senior citizens will be admitted free of charge to either performance. Clay Workers Guild Views Movie April 7 The Clay Workers guild, a recently formed group of student, professional and amateur potters, will hold its next meeting Saturday. April 7, at 10 a.m. The guild members will experiment with phixotropic clay, and will also see a movie on potter Gerry Williams. The meeting is in Room 164 of McHenry County college's Main hall building The group is also planning a lecture, demonstration and workshop April 24 and 25 featuring Richard Peeler. Peeler is a production potter who taught at DePauw university for 20 years. For additional information on the guild, telephone MCC in­ structor Susan Galloway at the college or attend the April 7 meeting. J College Honors j Scholarship To Tarn I Gunder Tami Gunder of 612 S. Orchid path, McHenry, is the recipient of a partial tuition competitive scholarship to attend National College of Education in Evanston. Tami is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Gunder and attends McHenry West campus high school. National College of Education competitive scholarships are merit-based awards granted to high school seniors in the top quarter of their graduating classes. Students write an essay, are interviewed by NCE faculty, and demonstrate special talent in an area of their choice: art, English, mathematics, music psychology, social science or speech-theater. Initiated Into Alpha Sigma Nu Marquette university's chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu, national Jesuit honor society, recently initiated new student members. Among them was Christine D. Darr, 7216 Hiawatha drive. Wonder Lake. Membership in the society is based on scholarship, loyalty and service to the university. Two From McHenry Named To Dean's List At Marquette The various colleges of Marquette university have announced their dean's lists for the academic period just completed.
