CELEBRATION The Ladies of the Lake are celebrating their silver an niversary this year, and in June will have a big party to mark the big event. If anyone has any information about the club from its beginnings, or knows the whereabouts of any former members, please contact Barbara Reiter or Irene Johnson, as the club would like to include the history of the organization and its past members in the celebration. The April meeting of the Ladies of the Lake will take place at the beach house on April 12 at 8 p.m., and will be the annual plant auction. Ladies, don't miss this one! Boike, who will give her senior art exhibit in the Reicher Art gallery at Barat college, Sheridan and Westleigh roads in Lake Forest. The exhibit, which also includes her oil paintings, will open with a reception on April 16 at 7 p.m. in the gallery and continue through April 21. The daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Wilbur F. Boike of McHenry, she is a senior at Barat with a double major in studio art and business economics. Prior to this exhibit, which is a graduation requirement for all senior art majors, Boike has had her work exhibited at the McHenry County Art fair. The gallery, which is located on the ground floor of the main administration building, will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Adults, College Choir Unite In April Concert The voices of the Northern Illinois Choral association and the McHenry County college choir will be heard at 7:30 Sunday, April 22, at St. Thomas church, Route 176 and Oak street in Crystal Lake. The program will lead off with selections from the rock opera, "Jesus Christ, Super star," accompanied by piano, rock guitar and percussion. This will be followed by "Alleluia," "The Last Words of David," and, "The Testament of Freedom," a setting of four passages taken from the writings of Thomas Jefferson. The final selection, "St. Patrick's Mass," composed by Philip Green, will be ac companied by full orchestra. This Mass is the composer's personal tribute of Thanksgiving, not only to the church, but to Ireland, a country he has loved with something approaching passion, since his youth. The entire production is under the direction of MCC music instructor, Judith Williamson, assisted by ac companist, Barbara Hess Thorsen. The Northern Illinois Choral association was founded by Margaret M. Griffith before the development of McHenry County college and the college choir combined with the choral association after the college became a reality, providing a community chorus in con junction with the educational instruction. Two concerts are presented each year, both winter and spring. The chorus also sings at community and church programs.
