Gunderson 385-3052 i_ Rummage Sale Benefits Church Restoration Fund St. John's Blessed Virgin Mary sodality annual event starts Thursday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and continues Friday, April 27, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., in the basement of the Community club, east side entrance of building. Used, clean, clothing for the whole family are needed, towels, sheets, drapes, rugs, etc., also household items, Wishes, antiques, towels and small working appliances. Please bring them to the east basement door of the John- sburg Community club, the week of Monday, April 16 through Saturday the twenty- first. Volunteers are needed to prepare for the sale, and also help on April 26 and 27. Please call Mrs. Michael (Eva) Schaefer, 385-2560, and advise the hours you can work. The Restoration fund of St. John's church will benefit from this sale. OUR SICK Pat Tomasello, Henry J. Waldin and Lester B. Kleinke are in need of your prayers. Remember them especially this week, together with our other friends and neighbors. SYMPATHY Our prayers to the family of Oscar Adler, husband of Myrtle Adler, of St. John's parish, who passed away recently. CROP-WALK The -/Community Hunger appeal of Church World service was held Palm Sunday, April 8. The ten mile walk could not be held at Moraine Hills state park because of flooding conditions. Walkers started at McHenry high school, West campus, through Whispering Oaks, Fox Ridge, and across 120 into Lakeland Park. There were 127 walkers, representing thirteen different churches. Highest sponsored walker was "Dirck", a foreign exchange student sponsored by the McHenry Rotary. Total of pledges for those who participated, after all expenses are tabulated, should be over $3,000. Twenty-five percent will be given to the Fish of McHenry, for the local hunger needs and the balance to the charities represented. Coor­ dinator was Lynne Sobczak. Congratulations! NEWS We can use news from Dutch Creek, Clarendon Hills (along Scott and Kama streets) Chapel Hill Country Club estates, River Terrace, Pistakee Golf club and Windy Prairie acres, as well as people in the rural areas in our Johnsburg vicinity. RED CROSS OFFICE The Area Disaster office of the Red Cross was recently located at the Johnsburg Community club, for flood relief, etc. Betty Keegan is head of the McHenry county Red Cross. Woodstock. Volunteers have been temporarily assigned to the Peoria area, but will return to the Johnsburg office, if there is a need of their help. DISTRICT 12 REGISTRATION Johnsburg Community Unit District 12, will be holding its comprehensive registration for all children born prior to Dec. 1, 1976 ( 3-4-5- year old) at John­ sburg Middle school, 2117 W. Church street on Wednesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 19. JOHNSBURG H.S. MUSICAL Be sure to keep Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, open to attend the production "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," in the John­ sburg high school auditorium. There will be about thirty-five in the cast of this musical comedy, and it promises to be excellent entertainment. P T O. TALENT SHOW Tuesday, May 15, Johnsburg high school auditorium will be the scene of the P.T.O. talent show. Plan now for an en­ joyable evening watching our local talent from age 6 and up! SPRING-DINNER THEATRE "An Evening of One-Act Plays." is scheduled for Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26. Mark this qn calendar now, and takfe best girl. your your PTO.-JUNIOR CLASS Last Friday April 6 was basketball night at the John­ sburg high school gym. The game K through 8 vs. John­ sburg high school faculty, was won by the high school faculty. The Donkey teams, fire department versus boosters, was won by the fire depart­ ment. The high school faculty played the seniors and won. In the last game between the high school faculty and the fire department, and the high school faculty won. It was truly one exciting night, and there were many spectators. P.T O. FUN FAIR April 21 is the date, Saturday is the day. 11 to 4 is the time, for the Fun Fair to be held at Bush elementary school. There will be a bake sale, Serendipity Shop, and you may bring one of your pictures for a com­ puterized T shirt. This day is always a highlight of the school year, and our boys and girls surely enjoy a great time. EASTER! We hope you enjoyed a blessed day Sunday, April 15. with at least some of your family. "5. 1902, in Chicago, the son of Arthur and Frieda Timmerman Scholtz The deceased was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal service, having worked out of Chicago He was a member of McHenry Ix)dge 158 AF and AM, and was Past Master in 1953. Jan. 25. 1943. he married Kathryn Fisher in Chicago, and she survuves Also surviving are a son, LeRoy Scholtz of New York, daughters Mrs Edward 'Betty Lou) Hammerstein of Harvard, Mrs Richard < Betty Marie) Johnson and Mrs Walter (Elaine) Rose. both of DesPlaines, Mrs .leanetta Blanken of Dundee, and Mrs Dennis (Penny Sue> Taylor. Jr.. of McHenry; twenty-three grandchildren, three great­ grandchildren; and two brothers, Fred of Arlington Heights, and Arthur of Chicago He was preceded in death by his parents and two grand­ children. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Peter M. Justen and Son funeral homo, until the time of the service. Reverend Roger W. Schneider of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church will officiate at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in the Memorial Park for McHenry county. Woodstock Memorials may be made in the name of the deceased to the McHenry area rescue squad DONALD BOLLMAN Donald Bollaman, 53, of Palm Desert, Calif., and a resident of the McHenry area for many years, died April 13 in California Mr Bollman was the son of the late Bernard Bollman. in whose memory a 20-bed pavilion was dedicated by his wife in August of 1965 He was born July 13, 1925. and resided in California for several years , Survivors include his wife. Yvonne and his mother. Mrs Millie Bollman. California Private services and burial took place in Palm Springs..
