Lejman, 29, Harvard, was killed last Friday when his silver pick-up truck rolled over on Harvard Hills road, according to the Sheriff's police. Apparently there were no witnesses to the accident and Lejman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Gregory Chahaj, Wonder Lake, was treated and released from McHenry hospital after his July 7 accident on Barnard Mill road. Chahaj said he was heading west on Barnard Mill road at about 55 or 60 mph when he "fell asleep at the wheel" and woke up when the car left the road. Chahaj said he tried to swerve the car back onto the road but lost control of the auto, which hit and sheered off a telephone pole. Leonard J. Blake, Wonder Lake, was admitted but later released from McHenry hospital after an accident on E. Wonder Lake road last Tuesday. Blake said a "blue Caddy" turned in front of him and when he applied the brakes of the motorcycle, he slid to a stop. Jeffrey A. Hatch, 707 Meadow Hill court, McHenry, was ticketed for improper overtaking after his motdrcycle slid into a car at the in tersection of Route 120 and Charles street. Hatch said he was passing a line of cars on the paved shoulder when a car, driven by Beverly E. Wickenkamp, 4316 W. Clearview, McHenry, turned in front of him. Bob J. Allen, 902 Hayden drive, McHenry, was also ticketed for improper passing after the car he was driving hit another, driven by Carol A. Ludwig, Burlington, Wis., on Wilmot road. Ms. Ludwig said that as she crested a hill on Wilmot road she saw a car heading north in the southbound lane. She said she could not get out of the way in time. Allen said he swerved to avoid a jogger but could not get back in time. The jogger, James Bowgren, said that the car swung "way over to the southbound shoulder" and that the driver was looking toward a field on his left. Denise M. Jarling, Island Lake, said the car in front of her stalled and as she went around the car she did not see another one approaching. The driver of the other car, Alice E. Wells, 720 Area street, McHenry, said she saw the other car swing out into her lane but could not avoid the accident. Ms. Jarling was ticketed for improper passing. Theodore E. Voss, Jr., Cary, was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident after his car hit another one in the rear, driven by Elbert N. Haney, 212 Nippersink, McHenry. Haney said Voss drove away as Haney went to report the accident. After he was located, Voss made no statement. Harry J. Wickern, 504 Rand road, McHenry, said he thought the car in front of him, driven by Lisa Ann Bourne, Spring G' ove, was going through the intersection when his car hit her auto in the rear. Florence S. Robertson, 3715 Lee street, McHenry, said she was heading west on Route 120 near the VFW entrance when a car turned in front of her. Jack H. Worm, 1700 N. Beach road, McHenry, was ticketed for failure to yield right of way* Bonnie L. Brown, Wonder Lake, was slowly backing out ot her driveway when she stopped because her vision was ob structed by some bushes. A car drivep by James Nevsimal, Wonder Lake, saw her backing and stopped. They both started at about the same time and there was no way to avoid the collision. No tickets were issued and no one was injured when a car, driven by John Francis Flanagan, Wonder Lake, hit a pole at the intersection of Route 31 and Harts road: Flanagan said a deer ran in J front of the car and when he" swerved to avoid it, he lost ; control of the car on the gravel ' and hit a pole. 4 Auto Service Tips if the hood of your car or small truck doesn't open easily, don't assume that the latch and release mechanism are improperly aligned. They might be; but before you spend money for a new latch mechanism, try a liberal application of chassis grease on the latch handle pivot, catch and spring. This may be all that is needed.
