SECTION 2 - PAGE • - PL AINDEALER - FRIDAY, AUGUST, IS, IMS Sunnyside Area Betty Messer 344-2494 Scribe Enjoys Vacation In North Woods Hi! Hope you all missed me while I was away. The family spent a beautiful week in the Northwoods of Conover, Wis. Wp enjoyed relaxing and fishing and visiting our daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Ralph Rosinski, and grandson, Chad. Our son Bob is spending the month of August with them. Thanks to son-in- law Ralph who is a licensed guide Dad caught muskie on his first try at muskie fishing. The mighty muskie is being mounted, proof this one didn't get away. , While I was gone we had a busy week here in Sunnyside, so on with the news. HAPPY 75TH BIRTHDAY El Schuberth of 4206 Riverview celebrated his seventy-fifth birthday on Thursday, July 26. El is really 75 years young. For his birthday his daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Jim Noland, of Chicago, treated Dad to a ride in a hot air balloon. The ride which originates at the Windy City Balloon Port in Fox River Grove lasts 2 hours. They flew over Cary, Crystal Lake and Algonquin. After the ride passengers are treated to a glass of champagne. From there El and wife, Eleanor, were treated to a birthday at a famous Chicago Greek restaurant. They had a birthday cake for El with a balloon on it. He also had his picture taken with the star belly dancer. Eleanor says El hasn't come down to earth yet. His Father's day present was a helicopter ride. El still has to take this ride. The weather conditions have to be right for choppers to go up. The ride was canceled a couple of times, but El hopes the next time it is scheduled it comes about, he's looking forward to the ride. Perhaps this will help: tains are more economical than paint . . . they cost less, are easier to apply, require less maintenance; stains will not crack, peel, or blister; stains offer unique color effects in a wide color range . . . enhance the beauty of wood grain; stains preserve the wood by penetrating deeply. For build ing or remodeling, specify trouble-free Cabot's Stains, the original stains and standard for the nation since 1877. McHenry Paint Glass & Wallpaper 3411 W. Elm St., McHenry 385-7353 POLICE NOTES Chief Mitchell of the Sun nyside police answered a call of gun shots in the Lake dawn- wood area. Arriving on the scene the police could find no gunman. But a search of the area turned up spent cartridges from a 12 gauge shot gun and 30-30 rifle. Discharging firearms within the village limitis is a felony. Chief Mitchell says anyone caught firing a weapon within the village limits is subject to a steep fine or jail sentence or both. Though Lake Dawnwood is not as heavily populated as other areas of the village there are a number of homes occupied. And more being built. It is hoped that whoever is using the area for target shooting stops before a stray bullet kills or cripples someone- If you have any information regarding these Shootings call Chief Mitchell at 385-3250. The area is being kept under close surveillance. BIRTHDAYS °~ This week's birthday greetings go to Eric Hein and Laurie Tomsa whose day was Aug. 3, Ellen Perschke and P.T.
