HERB DETTMER LIVING IN HAWAII ~ Mr. and Mrs. Herb Dettmer are residing in Hawaii, where he is stationed while serving in the United States Air Force. They were married Jane 9 in a 4:30 p.m. ceremony at the Pilgrim Congregational church. The bride, the former Ton! E. Boydston, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Boydston, Oak Park, III. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dettmer, 4510 Clearview drive, McHenry, are the parents of the groom, and his uncle is Mcllenry county Sheriff E. J. "Chic" LaMagdaleine. A reception for 148 guests followed at the Jolly Club in Chicago after the ceremony. The bride is employed as a bookkeeper. Meals are served Monday through Friday at the McHenry Walk-In center beginning at 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made by 1:30 p.m. the day before at 3K4260. The menu for the week of Aug. 20 to Aug. 24 is as foilows: Aug. 20: Stuffed pepper with onion sauce, corn, tomato wedges on lettuce, bread, butterscotch pudding and milk. Aug. 21: Beef stew with vegetables, pickled beets, biscuits, jello with fruit and milk. Aug. 22: Chicken loaf, cranberry sauce, succotash, potato chips, bread, mixed fruit and milk. Aug. 23: Steak sandwich au jus, cauliflower au gratin, tossed salad, lemon pudding and milk. Aug. 24: Turkey cubes in Waldorf salad, corn on the cob, bread, chocolate pudding and milk. Court 777 Sets Fall Functions The regular meeting of St. Agatha Court 777 of the National Catholic Society of Foresters will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Johnsburg community club hall. Final plans for the outing to Shady Lane will be made. The ladies will attend a luncheon and play On Wednesday, Sept. 26. Reservations should be made by Sept. 15 to Mrs. Leo (Evelyn) Diedrich or Mrs. Frank (Laura) Schmitt. The annual Day of Recollection at the Bishop Lane Retreat house in Rockford is also being planned for Sept. 26. Reservations should be made to Mrs. Frank (Laura) Schmitt by Sept. 15. Mrs. Arnold Michels is in charge of the "Snack Time" party. There will be no regular meeting in September. DIANE BOETTCHER 1980 WEDDING - Mr. and Mrs. William Boettcher, 1511 Pine street, McHenry, announce the engagement of their daughter, Diane, to Robert Fry of Wauconda, III., son of Beverly Alshouse of Wauconda and Ronnie Fry of Clarkston, Ga. The bride-elect is a 1979 graduate of McHenry high school, and is presently working for a large insurance company. The prospective groom graduated from Wauconda high school in 1977, and is employed by the Wauconda police department. A 19X0 wedding is planned. Women Of The Moose Senior Regent Doris Low called the Aug. 7 meeting of the McHenry Women of the Moose to order. Two new members enrolled during August were sponsored by Pat Knapnik and Sara Sosznik. It was reported that although the picnic was a little wet, some super clowns, games and prizes were enjoyed by both big and little kids. The grocery basket recently collected was donated. Fund raising is planned to help a family. Moose members are en­ couraged to come out and enjoy Wednesday evening meals at the lodge. They begin at 5:30 p.m. and are most enjoyable. Moose baseball will feature McHenry hosting Wauconda Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. at the VFW field. Everyone should come and cheer the teams on. The next meeting is Aug. 21. Reverend Charles Heaney officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony, and special music included "Wedding Song", "One Hand, One heart", "Prayer of St. Francis" and "On This Day, 0 Beautiful Mother". The bride chose an empire bodice gown of white organza, styled with a Queen Anne neckline,, and trimmed with appliques of Venise lace. Tiny double flounce treatment on the cap sleeves was repeated the hemline of the A-line skirt. Her fingertip veil was trimmed with matching Venise lace. The matron of honor was the sister of the bride, Mrs. William (Mary Jo) Brut. Bridesmaids were Brenda Wegener, sister of the groom, Mrs. Daniel Goerdt and Debbie Kuczwara. Andrea Wegener was a junior bridesmaid and Amy Wegener was the flower girl. > Echoing the peach and white in baskets of flowers decorating the church were the attendants floor length peach gowns with matching high necked chiffon capes tying at the waist for a blouson effect. Matching peach picture hats with chiffon bands and white silk flowers and colonial bouquets of white and peach carnations completed the picture. The flower girl wore a peach chiffon flow length gown with three tiers of ruffles on the full skirt. Mike Klausegger of Liber- tyville performed the duties of the best man. Groomsmen were Fred Klausegger, Jim Jeffry and Pete Lieser. Tim Wegener, brother of the groom, was the junior groomsman. Mike Wegener and Albert Thennes, cousins of the groom, were ushers. The mother of the bride chose a pastel yellow knit floor length gown with matching chiffon cape. A mint green full length gown with chiffon overlay and matching cape was the choice of the mother of the groom. After the ceremony, a reception was held for 275 guests at the Johnsburg community club. The couple will be residing in Milwaukee after a wedding trip to Florida and Nassau. The bride, a graduate of McHenry high school, was formerly a teller at the McHenry State bank. The groom attended Carmel high school in Mun- delein and is presently com­ pleting his senior year at Marquette university. Three miscellaneous showers were held prior to the wedding: a buffet given by the bridesmaids, a buffet by the groom's sister, and a dessert lunch given by fellow em­ ployees. Wears Gold Bracelet, Wedding Gift Of Groom As Deborah Leonard ap­ proached the altar of Zion Lutheran church Aug. 11 to become the bride of Michael L. Appner, Crystal Lake, she was wearing s special gift given to her by her bridegroom, a gold bracelet. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall E. Leonard, 2905 Bay view lane, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Appner, 316 Elmwood, Lake Geneva, Wise., are the parents of the groom. Reverend Herman Graef officiated at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony, and special music was "Sabbath ... Prayer'1;'1 "Morning Has Broken", apd, "Sunrise, Sunset". .7 Arrangements of mixed summer flowers, baby's breath and foliage accented the church, and white bows highlighted the pews. A very personal ending to the ceremony came when the young couple handed each of their mothers a long stemmed rose during the recessional. The bride's traditional white bouffant dress was had a fitted bodice, long sleeves, and a lace neckline. The bouffant skirt floated out over a hoop, and was em­ bellished with five tiers of lace. A fingertip veil completed the picture. She carried a compact bouquet composed of white,- orchids, town crier roses, white daisies and baby's breath, accented with trailing streams of ivy. Camila Knaack of McHenry, and Deborah Wagner of Monee, 111., were chosen to share the honor of Matron of honor. Kathleen Willson of Woodstock was the bridesmaid. Sandra Braspenick, 6, of Ironwood, Mich., and Amy Jeginski, 3, of Crystal Lake, were the flower girls. Floor length gowns, made by each attendant, were of periwinkle blue qiana with scoop cowl necklines. Small bouquets of mixed summer flowers, accented with baby's breath and periwinkle ribbons were carried, and yellow daisies and baby's breath were worn in the hair. Flower girls, dressed in blue, carried baskets of mixed summer flowers, and wore yellow daisies and baby's breath in their hair. Mitchell Appner of Tempe, Ariz., was the best man. Matthew Appner and Leonard Jegerski were the groomsmen. The mother of the bride was gowned in a floor length coral cowl neck gown, while a midi- length blue dress was chosen by the mother of the groom. A garden reception at the home of the bride's parents on Pistakee Bay was held for 200 guests who toasted the bridal couple. They planned a summer wedding trip to Ironwood, Mich., and a trip to a warmer climate during the winter months. The couple plans to live in Crystal Lake for the present, with plans to move eventually to Ironwood, Mich. The groom is a general contractor. The bride, a graduate of Judson college, Elgin, is employed as a probation officer for McHenry county. Coincidentally, the Aug. 11 date chosen for the wedding was the same date that the bride's parents were married in 1951. It is also the birthday of the bride's godchild, James Knaack, and of the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Charles Buelow of Valparaiso, Ind. The guest gook at the wed­ ding was passed by the bride's cousins, Kathy and Karen Issel.
