(with long time subscribers) LESTER SHERMAN Sherman Hill on Route 120 west, where the McHenry Sand and Gravel company now stands, still bears the name of the family that lived there many years ago. After living on the hill in tlfe house of his parents and grandparents, Lester Sherman moved into McHenry proper some 10 or 15 years ago and the McHenry Plaindealer is still a part of his life. "The Plaindealer has been in the family for as long as I can remember," Sherman said. Today, Lester Sherman enjoys reading about the everyday life and times of McHenry, 111., although his interest in sports has waned in recent years. Muskovin, daughter of Robert Muskovin and Mrs. Patricia Bergstrom, Morris, 111., was married to Vincent P. Nett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nett, 2112 Chapel Hill road, McHenry, Saturday, Aug. 4, in St. Patrick's Catholic church, McHenry. Father Matthias J. Rauen officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony. Mrs. Kris Krysiak, Debbie Muskovin, Nanci Nett, Denise Arroyo and Miss Mari Nett attended the bride. Richard Thennes of Crystal Lake was the best man. Groomsmen were David Nett, Bill Adams, Steve Muskovin and Stebe Zwolfer. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Johnsburg community club for 180 guests. The couple honeymooned in Florida,- and will reside in McHenry. Both 1977 graduates of McHenry high school, the bride is a cashier at Woodstock's Farm and Fleet, and the groom is manager of Ed's Rental and Sales, Inc., in Crystal Lake. Mr. and Mrs. James Kattner, Spring Grove, had a son in Harvard hospital Aug. 13. 1979 is on the wing- seven months have al­ ready passed into history. The board of School District 156 honored two teachers, one board member, two custodians, and three' cafeteria staff recently at its annual Retirement and Recognition dinner held at Andre's Steak House. The two teachers who received special recognition for their 20 years of teaching at McHenry Community high school were George Cina and Eugene Rosio, both Industrial Arts teachers. Also honored for her 20 years of service to the district was Eleanor Regelin, cafeteria manager at West campus. Four other staff members who are retiring received recognition for their dedicated service in the district. They are Jim VanFleet, head custodian at West campus with 16 years of WONDER LAKE SENIORS The next meeting of the Wonder Lake Senior Citizens club will take place Monday, Aug. 20, preceded by free blood pressure check. The program will be presented by Bob Rankin, who will show a film on retirement. Refreshments will be served. service; Barbara Leight, cafeteria manager at East with W/z years of service; Dorothy Dams, cafeteria worker for 16 years; and Harry Sikora, bus driver and towel laundry service for 14 years. The board also recognized one of its retiring members, James Althoff, for his out­ standing service to the students of District 156. Althoff had been on the board of education from 1967-1979,. serving as the president for ten years.
