The Antioch Kennel Association (AKA), a non profit organization, was for mulated to promote the training and breeding of purebred dogs by enlightening the pet owner as well as the dog show owner. It is in its fourth year of regularly scheduled meetings which include programs of interest to all dog owners. With three successful fun matches to its credit. The association is embarking on Number four. A fun match is a dog show at which no American Kennel Club (AKC) cham pionship points are awarded. As the name implies, it is for fun and also a valuable ex perience for the young dog, novice handler or just a practice run. Spectators are encouraged to attend as much can be learned from the at tending breeders and exhibitors. The big date is Saturday, Aug. 18, when the judging will begin at 10 a.m. The match will be held at a new site, McHenry county fairgrounds, Rt. 47, Woodstock. Confirmation classes will be held individually for all breeds, males and females being judged separately. The classes offered for puppies are 2-4 months, 4-6 months, 6-9 months, and 9-12 months. Adult con firmation include American bred and open. Obedience competition will also be held with classes for the sub-novice, novice "A" and "B" graduate novice, open "A" and "B", utility. Also offered are junior showmanship classes for junior handlers ages 8-16 years. Anyone needing further in formation about the match can contact match secretary, Doris Reimer, at 312-395-1405.
