On Aug. 27, the Longhorn Steak House, at 615 W. Rand road, McHenry, was burglarized in the amount of $5,000. Investigation by the Sheriff's police revealed that someone forced open a rear window and to gain entry and stole the cash box. A spokesman for O.E.A. Construction company reported that someone had broken into a home under construction at 903 Annabelle, in McHenry, and stole a large quantity of electrical supplies. The Sheriff's police found that the garage door had been forced open and a number of rolls of wiring, outlet covers, switch covers, outlet boxes, a pipe bender and six 16-foot lengths of cedar lumber were missing. An undetermined amount of cash was stolen from both the juke box and the pool table at the American Legion home on Ringwood road, according to Sheriff's police. The offenders pried the rear fire exit open to get in and also m <>I took and undetermined amoufit of beer, pizzas and food.
