McHENRY 385-0333 'Cane Volleyball Trospects Good Girl's varsity volleyball coach Mary Stoner, said the prospects for this year look very good. The Hurricanes took second place in the conference last year with an overall record of 21 wins and 5 losses. "We have three girls returning from last year's state team, Stoner said. A senior from McHenry, Renae DeRosier, starting her third year with the team, was described by Stoner as a strong point in line. Also returning from the state team is Wonder Lake junior, Sandi Kasting, who is one of the taller and stronger players on the varsity squad~a strong blocker. Jackie Weber hails from McHenry started last year as a sophomore and is one of the best setters on the team "She's short, but strong," Stoner said. "We're expecting a lot out of these three girls." In her second year on the team, and her first year on the varsity squadyis Betsy Powers, from Crystal Lake, "a good/ consistent player." A strong hitter, Paddy Guerin, also from Crystal Lake is starting her first year on varsity, as is Linda Aim, McHenry: Kendelle Ryan and Julie Berna, both from Crystal Lake. The Hurricanes are facing a bigger season this year with !f,y- m°re ga,mth?n last year' Stoner and the Hurricanes are looking forward to the challenge.
