SERVICES m » * I -:;f Planetarium Sky Show New moons, new rings and new understanding of the giant ringed planet Saturn will be lighlights of "Space Storms," the fall Sky show which will run through Nov. 26 at the Adler Planetarium. Pictures and information sent to Earth on the first of September by Pioneer 11, the first space mission to Saturn, will give Sky show audiences the most up-to-date Saturn report available anywhere. Mars and Jupiter will also be included in the Sky show survey of the violent worlds beyond the seemingly peaceful night sky seen from Earth. "Earth's weather looks pretty tame compared to the stormy weather in space," Associate Astronomer Dr. James S. Sweitzer commented. "Even hurricane David was far milde^ than the 400-year cyclone which we see as Jupiter's red spot, or the in credible force of particles blasted into space by dying stan." ' Four familiar weather- casters who usually describe the weather on this planet will tackle a different challenge as they make "on location" weather reports to the Astro Weather center on current conditions farther afield in the universe. WMAQ-TV weatherman Jerry Taft will report from the sun; WBBM-TV's John Coughlin will call in from Jupiter; WLS-TV meteorologist Dr. Frank Sechrist will describe the weather one million light years from Earth high above the Milky Way galaxy and WGN-TV's Tom Skilling will report from 60 million light years away in the Virgo cluster of galaxies. Sky shows are presented 'Monday through Thursday at 2 p.m., Friday at 2 p.tty. and 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and holidays at 11 a.m., 1,2,3 and 4 p.m. Building hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and holidays. The Adler Planetarium is located at 1300 South Lake Shore drive. Further in formation is available at 322- 0300. Renewal Deadline For Multi-Year Plates Secretary of State Alan J. Dixon said that he will open majpr facilities . in Springfield andChi^agQ&turday, Sept. 29, to sell renewal stickers for multi-year license registrations which expire at midnight Sept. 30. Many banks, currency ex changes and saving and loan associations throughout the state are now selling renewal stickers over the counter. Under state law no ex tensions may be granted for any sticker renewal ex pirations. Answer y It isn't. The best anti-freeze or coolant, as it is rriore correctly called, is seldom effective after a year, or 12,000 miles. Coolants not only offer protection against freezing, they inhibit corrosion and system-clogging rust particles. To keep your cooling system in the best condition, we recommend a yearly dnain and pressure backflush of the system, and the installation of fresh coolant. Don't put it off. Have your coolant checked at least once a year by the cooling system specialists. We're always ready to serve you. The more dependent we are on the scarce fuels to make electricity, the less certain we can be that there will always be enough electricity. And the more costly that electricity becomes. So at Commonwealth Edison, we make over half of our electricity from coal and most of the rest from uranium. Both are abundant fuels. By using them, we're helping to conserve America's oil and natural gas resources for transportation and other vital energy needs. And we're lessening our reliance on imported fuels. Last year coal and uranium let us save over 100,000,000 barrels of oil costing over $1,200,000,000. Think of electricity as the Conservation Energy. The next time you plug something in, remember: You're using the energy that helps save energy. e Commonwealth Edison Working lor you. «§! ~ ; * i * r St. Pair* Episcopal Church 3706 W.
