One of six hopeful couples will be chosen to be Homecoming King and Queen, and the announcement will be anxiously awaited at the bonfire, where the couple's reign will begin. A short sketch of two couples appeared In Friday's Plaindealer. Among the remaining four couples are Tim Sabatka and Carrie Mortell, both members of the National Honor Society. Tim is the son of Mike and Irene Sabatka, 35M Washington, McHenry, and is actively involved In tennis and football at school. On his own time, Tim plays tennis and enjoys skiing. He plans to attend college full time to study accounting. Carrie lives at 3507 W. Washington with her parents, Robert and Donna Mortell. She is involved in student council, and Is a member of the track and cross-country teams. JHer personal pursuits are running, and playing the French* horn, and she enjoys a stuffed animal collection. Carrie plans to major in education in college. Barrie Anderson intends to go to college. He Is in football, basketball and baseball, as far as extracurricular activities go, and on his own time just enjoys athletic involvement, especially skiing. Teresa Deveikto, senior class president, and student council member, has plans' which Include possible attendance at Northern Illinois university. She is~the daughter of John and Irma Develkis, 2610 W. Riverside drive, McHenry, and is interested In art, embroidery and sewing, and in the sport of skiing. Robert Bitterman will attend Washburn Culinery institute, and expand on his interest in cooking, by taking it to a plrofessional level. He is the son of Robert and Barb Bitterman, Sr., 3614 W. James street, McHenry, and is active in varsity basketball and tennis. Bob also enjpys the unique hobby of restoring old cars. Beth Cable Is the daughter of Robert and Arlette Cable, 312 Fairway drive, McHenry. .She is active in pom pon and student council. Beth's hobbles are piano and water skiing, and she plans to attend college. Among area births recorded recently at Memorial hospital for McHenry county, Wood­ stock, are the following births: Sept. 27, a boy to Mr. and Mrs. Church Women United Hold October Forum The Church Women United in the Lake Region will begin a fall program Friday, Oct. 5, by continuing this year's theme, "International Year of the Child: Every Child Is 'My' Child." Speaker for the October forum meeting is Peggy Peterson, director of McHenry county Parental Assistance. She will discuss "Parenting Our Child" and highlight her presentation with a film intitled "Cradle of Violence." The forum will be held at the First United Methodist church in Crystal Lake in the upstairs lounge at 9:15 a.m. There will be babysitting available for youngsters.
