T.H.E.O.S. (To Help Each Other Smile) is for widows (widowers are also welcome), with no age restrictions, and is non- denominational, meeting the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at a local restaurant for dinner, and then going to the church for the balance of the evening. The location of the restaurant is always listed under the Community Calendar. However, in December the routine will be changed. Instead of going to a -restaurant, there will be a catered dinner at the church at 5:30 p.m. in the fellowship room, and after dinner the group will go into the church parlor for an evening of fun and entertainment. The date is Monday, Dec. 17. All widows or widowers are welcome, but reservations must be made before Dec. 10 with Mrs. Wm. J. (Lyda) Radisch. The price is very nominal and the food is excellent. The group decided on a one-dollar grab bag. Women Of The Moose were married Nov. 23, 1929 at St. Helen's Catholic church, Augusta boulevard, Chicago. They lived in McHenry for the past six f-years, having moved here from Franklin Park, where they resided for eighteen years. Previous to that, they lived in Chicago. The Martin's have three children, Donald R. of Ad­ dison, Mrs. Arlene (George) Fick of Spring Grove and James J. of Lombard. They also have six grandchildren and two great­ grandchildren. Guest Charles Smith of Com­ monwealth Edison company showed slides and gave an interesting , talk on nuclear energy when he appeared as guest speaker for the Friendship club of the First United Methodist church. Following his talk, he an­ swered many questions concerning the subject. Two new members were welcomed into membership, Ruth Gumm and Mae Eltoft. Evelyn Smith read the meditations, which were so appropriate for the season, and a lovely poem given to her by one of the members. A letter from the Board of Trustees was read, requesting all members to adhere to the rules and regulations. Nominating chairlady, Bertha Stange, assisted by Leonard McCracken, and Clyde Bailey, read the slate of nominees for the election to be held at the December meeting. Daisy and » Harold Wildhagen are responsible for the coffee and cookies for all the Sunday mornings in December. Volunteers are needed for January. Daisy Wildhagen related information regarding help needy persons can get from the government for in­ sulating and heating their homes. The next potluck dinner and meeting of the Friend­ ship club will be Saturday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m., at the First United methodist church. Florence Colby, Alice Holmgren, Laura Norton and Esther Sims will prepare the program. ̂ Hosts and hostesses in­ clude, Cleda and Leonard McCracken, : Helen and Harry Lundy, Lyda Radisch, Gertrude Anderson and Anne Demke. The meat committee is comprised of Bertha and Elmer Stange, Violet Charles Kopp, Mary Herbert Rose, Norma Frank Pieplow, Lonah Elver Wendlandt Margaret Andersen. Members are to bring gifts to the December meeting for resident's of Valley; Hi nursing home, wrapped as birthday presents, and marked for a lady or a man. Daisy and Harold Wildhagen volunteered to deliver those to Valley Hill at Hartland. mwm ,v.- Sheepherde stmas '* .v.. . 4TT Holiday Sparkle At The Lambs' Christmas The charming appeal of holidays-gone-by is highlighted during The Lambs' * old fashioned Christmas activities, con­ tinuing through New year's eve. Yuletide displays will decorate all seven rustic shops operated by and for mentally retarded adults at The Lambs, located at the intersection of Tri-State Toll way 1-94 and 111. 176 near Libertyville. Children, especially, will enjoy a visit to The Lambs during the holiday season when one restaurant offers them a chance to "Dine with Santa". Santa's cheer will spread through The Lambs during the old fashioned Christmas as he roams the grounds. Visitors also will enjoy the elves, snowmen and angel displays, along with a host of colorful ornaments and tinsel that fill each store with the glow of Christmas. Outside, The Lambs' grounds also will sparkle with Christmas displays, such as old fashioned carolers and a coutnry-style Kris Kringle with a horse and buggy. Visitors always enjoy a tour of the grounds in a quaint sleigh or, on days without snow, a fragrant hay wagon from the Children's Farmyard. These tours will be available throughout the winter season. Senior Regent pro-tern, Patricia Knapik called the last meeting to order, and installation was held for three new members: Michele Fisher, sponsored by Mary Ann Stott; and Rose Lingl and Eleanor Schubert, Both sponsored by Evelyn Sandell. Balloting was held, and three new candidates were approved to be installed at the next meeting. The attendance award was won by Florence Mc- Cormick, who was visiting from LasVegas, and the special award was won by Lily Ann Baker. Refreshments were served by the library chairman, Kathy Kelley and her co­ workers. The Social Service com­ mittee will serve during December, and a selection of Christmas gifts will be available to benefit the Social Service project. The annual Christmas potluck will take place at the Dec. 18 meeting at 7 p.m. Each member is asked to bring a dish to pass and a grab bag gift. The children's Christmas party is scheduled to be held Dec. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. Marilyn Comstock Publicity Chairman Christmas Party For Ct. 594 Boys The Catholic Order of Foresters, St.Mary Court No. 549, Boys Youth division, will sponsor the annual Christmas party Sunday, Dec. 16,. from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Montini gym. Married In Greenwood The Greenwood Com­ munity -Methodist church was the setting for the Dec. l wedding of the former Susan Marguerite Frey, 105 Canterbury drive, McHenry, and David Alan Dawson, son of Lloyd and Ann Dawson, 5108 W. Home avenue, McHenry. Reverend James Segin officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony amidst a setting ot red poinsettias. Special music included "Ave Maria", and an interlude of Ch^st^ mas carols. The bride wore an floor length quiana gown with satin edged lace. Her fingertip veil was trimmed with lace and affixed to a cap decorated with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations, red sweetheart roses and baby's breath. Dolores Ball, McHenry was the matron of honor and Sandy Etten, McHenry was the bridesmaid. The flower girl was Robyn Miller of Arlington Heights. Burgundy velvet floor length skirts with dusty rose silk blouses was the attire of the matron of honor and the bridesmaid. A floor length pink dotted swiss gown was chosen for the flower girl. They all carried bouquets of white tipped red carnations, pink carnations and baby's breath. James R. After the ceremony, a reception for sixty-five guests was held at the home of the bride's parents. Pineapple Ambrosia Pie 1 envelope of unfavor­ ed gelatin '/i t salt '/i c sugar 1 can pineapple (83/ioz.) Vi c orange juice 3 eggs, separated 1 t orange rind < Coconut crust In a heavy sauce pan over low heat, stir together gela­ tin, salt and % cup sugar. Stir in the undrained pine­ apple and orange juice. Cook and stir constantly over low Dr. John F.
