TTie foster home program is really the most important, for without it, no dogs and cats could be rescued, rehabilitated and then relocated. The few dogs and cats HP wa£able to save was due to the efforts of the foster home chairman, Patti Cane, of Crystal Lake and her roster of foster homes. Once the animal is adopted, HP pays a home visit to the family to offer assistance if needed and check to see that all is well. Many folks help out with what HP call followups, including Kat'ni Blake and Ellie Russin of McHenry, the latter who does HP's Wonder Lake followups. The collection cans are next. Through them HP receives extra financial support to keep going. The gals first get permission to place the cans, then take them there and collect them weekly and make a trip to the store-office at 465 Virginia street in Crystal Lake where the treasurer gleefully counts the money. Kathi Blake and Ellie Russin of McHenry are also in cluded among these workers. The adoption fee includes the cost of the spay or neuter surgery from a vet of our choice or a deduction from the cost of the surgery if done by a vet of your choice. No adoption fees are collected by persons owning their own pets. These fees are paid at the store office, 465 Virginia street, Crystal Lake. Adoption fees are collected, however, by foster homes only. Please read the listings carefully to find out which are homeowned pets and which are foster home pets.
