Kris Hospital Volunteers Honored For Service N Recognition for a "job well done" was acknowledged by Lee Pesce, executive director of Memorial hospital, to members of the hospital volunteer service group. The center of Pesce's attention were the 400 members of the Woman's auxiliary of Memorial Hospital at Woodstock during a special tea hosted by the hospital to recognize the many hours of service. "You do make a dif­ ference," Pesce, executive director, said simply. "I appreciate your efforts in many activities, and I assure you they add to the quality of life and patient care here." Bass player Brian Torff will accompany Shearing in a program which will feature ballads and stan­ dards spanning four decades of musical traditions. We have long-range plans to enhance the physicians available to people in Woodstock and the surrounding areas we ser­ ve." Concernirig facilities, Pesce outlined three steps ahead. First is the need to replace the power plant. The present plant is old and a more energy efficient power {riant will be built. Secondly, Pesce said remodeling will take place on all floors-sprucing up the core of the hospital, he ex­ plains. A hallway leading to the conference room is going to be the test area to try colors and design plans. Parking needs to be im­ proved, he reviewed, and he said the hospital has the capability of improving it. "Third step in the long- range plan is construction of a building south of the present hospital. This will expand our emergency services and outpatient department and will include such new facilities as physical therapy, dining area, electrographics area, sterile supply, and surgical suite including a day surgery suite." The remodeling will take patient beds in the oldest part of the hospital out of service, so 30 beds are being incorporated in the new structure. Pesce said it will include private rooms.
