Women Of The Moose There were 21 co-workers present at the July Chapter night Eleanore Hearle was installed as treasurer; Marge Granath as College of Regent chairman; and three candidates were balloted for enrollment. A discussion was held regarding the picnic Saturday, July 26, at Peterson park at 10 a.m. There will be games for young and old alike and the W O T M will furnish delicious food for everyone's pleasure. Marge Granath introduced ihe members of the College of Regents who were present and an array of salads was served at the end of the meeting. The July Business meeting was attended by 22 ladies and the following officers were installed: Ellen Berent. Assistant Guide; Dorothy Belshaw. Social Services: Pearl Kester, Academy of Friendship and Laurie Hertel, Publicity chairman. • Two nominees were balloted and three ladies, Sharon Chapman, Nancy Thundergard and Bonnie Tirado were enrolled. The Attendance award was won by Bonnie Taylor and Dorothy Belshaw received the Special award. The annual Bazaar will be held Nov. 1. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m To benefit the current membership drive, the ladies were requested to try and bring in two ne* members before March 31, 1981. Following the reading of the minutes by Eleanore Hearle, it was announced that there will be a special meeting July' 29, 8 p.m., for Vi Haacks' Green Cap night. Everyone is to bring a dish to pass. Evelyn Tandaric received a Chapter pin for attendance at four meeting. Birthdays for the month of July in­ cluded Janet Sienein, Carolyn Justen and Laurie Hertel. The meeting was ad­ journed at 9:30 p.m. and everyone enjoyed desserts furnished by several of the members. McHenry Market Place 385-4100 Newlyweds Honeymoon In Virgin Islands A visit to beautiful St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands was planned by the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Stanley A. Walczynski, Jr. The former Pamela Marie Yaeger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis L. Yaeger, 222 N. Martin avenue, Waukegan, and Stanley A. Walczynski, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley A. Walczynski, 4504 N. Hilltop. McHenry, ex­ changed promises , of marriage before Father Leo Bartei July 19. The setting for the 3 p.m. ceremony was St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg where.pews were decorated with carnations and ferns, tied with ribbon and large bows. The ' bride wore a traditional gown of white organza and alencon lace, fashioned with long tapered sleeves, high neckline and empire waist. The A-line skirt continued into a gently flowing chapel length train. A chiffon covered derby hat, with a venice lace edged brim, ruffle band, netting front and long veil, com­ pleted the picture. The maid of honor was Sandra Mazarka of Chicago. Bridesmaids were Danielle Heath, Bartonville, 111., a niece of the bride; Lynn Heath, Bartonville, sister of the bride; Karen Mackey, Renee Hagerty and Barbara Taylor, all of Waukegan; and Mary Walczynski, sister of the groom. Attendants were attired in floor length gowns of maize lustre-glo, featuring tie shoulders and a flounce cape, with a wrap skirt. The best man was Thomas Zimmerman of McHenry. Groomsmen were David Adams of McHenry; Bill and Paul Walczynski and Randy Neiss, all of Johnsburg; and Frank Leonard of Chicago. The ring bearer was John Sherk, Elgin, a nephew of the groom. Ushers were Richard Yaeger, Lake Villa, brother of the bride, Chris and Tom Walczynski, brothers of the groom, both of Johnsburg. The bride's mother chose a floor length gown of sea foam quiana. The bodice featured a V-neck and long sleeves. A side drape was adorned with silver bugle beads and aurora borealis trim. The skirt also draped forming a slight front slit. -The choice of the groom's mother was a sky blue floor length gown, drawn in empress style with an A-line skirt enhanced with an overlay of flower print chiffon, which was echoed on an elbow length cape. Following the ceremony, the bride's two nephews, Scott and Matthew Yaeger of Lake Villa, 111.; a niece. Shannon Heath of Bar­ tonville, 111.; and the groom's godchild, Amy Adams of McHenry distributed white velvet rose flowers filled with rice to the guests as they retired from the church. A reception was held at the Sheraton Inn, Waukegan, where 245 guests toasted the newlyweds. After their honeymoon, the couple will be residing at 1427 Valley Lake drive, Apt. 346, Schaumburg, III. The bride received a B.S. in Special Education from Northern Illinois university and enrolled in the Masters program at Governors State university, Park Forest South. She is currently a special education teacher for Schaumburg School District No. 54. The groom graduated from Bradley university, Peoria, 111., with a B. S, in Civil Engineering and enrolled in the MBA program at the University of Chicago. He is presently employed as a consulting engineer for Donohue and Associates, Hoffman Estates, 111. 15-Year Sewing Group Continues To Serve The Whispering Hills Sewing group, formed 15 years ago in June, continues to serve the community. On July 16 members met at the Pistakee Country club for lunch to celebrate the an­ niversary of the group's founding and review the many accomplishments. The founder was Louise Giel, referred to af­ fectionately as "Mother Hen" and guide. Former members still with the group are Mrs. GieL, Lillian Fleming and Anna Mae Kemer. Joining together with their hands and hearts to provide l; ic ' "'ifrt'1""" » the ladies engaged in many projects. Some of these were making gloves and mufflers for day care center children and making wheelchair compartment holders and knee warmers for elderly in nursing homes. The mem­ bers have also made a quilt for benefit purposes and collected coupons for more than two years which assist in purshasing the only public kidney dialysis machine in the Midwest. One admirer described them as "a small group without ceremonial per­ suasions but huge in their head and heart and public commitment". Senior Watkrln Center Meals are served Monday through Friday at the McHenry Walk-In center beginning at 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made by 1:30 p.m. the day before at 385-8260. The former Catherine ARM Weber, daughter of Robert D. and Mary E. Weber, SMS Waukegan road, McHenry and Michael James Schultheis, son of Suzanne Schultheis, 7313 Mohawk, Wonder Lake, and the late Frank Schultheis, were married May 24. Father Teafoe conducted the 3 p.m. liturgy at St. Patrick's Catholic church, McHenry. Following the ceremony, a reception was held for 150 guests at Crescent Bay Landing, Johnsburg. The newlyweds are residing in McHenry. Celebrates Ninetieth In 1921, he and his wife, Hermina, came to McHenry, where he helped his brother work his farm in Bull Valley. About a year later, Mr. Herdrich bought his bwn farm on Draper road, which is now a part of Shamrock Beef. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Herdrich. Five still livins in McHenry are Pauline Adams, Fred, Hilda Mailfold, John and Margaret Granath. Anna Hunter resides in Hartland, 111. There are also 18 grand­ children and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Herdrich gave up his farm in 1965 and moved to 3809 Maple street. McHenry, but after a lifetime of far­ ming, he still has a vegetable garden. He lives alone, (fees all his own housekeeping, yard work and tends beautiful flowers. The picture of health this nonagenarian portrays, he attributes emphatically to exercise and a five-mile walk every day. EM1L HERDRICH It was with a real en­ thusiasm for life and laughter in his voice that Emil Herdrich relayed his story of all the events which led to the celebration of his ninetieth birthday Sunday, July 20. He was born in Rust, Germany, July 20, 18y0, and lived and worked on a farm. July 19 is the date Jane Henley Weiss of McHenry, was given in marriage by her two sons, Lieutenant Eric Weiss, on leave from the U. S. Navy Air Corps, Moffett Field, Calif., and Kevin Weiss, home from Orlando, Fla., to exchange vows with Richard J. Kreuser, Somerset Mall, McHenry. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Gillen Henley, Chapel Hill, No. Carolina, who made the trip for the wedding with her brother, John Gillen of Pittsburg, Pa. Father Teafoe performed the 3 p.m ceremony in St. Patrick's Catholic church, McHenry. Cynthia Jones was the vocalist and the organist was Mrs. Jean Ludwig. The bride chose a mid- length, bone colored chiffon, shirtwaist style dress with long sleeves, widely flared skirt and tailored revere collar at a deep V neckline. It was adorned with a bone satin sash, fastened at the waist with a fresh gardenia. Bone colored leather sandals accented the ensemble. Her hat was wide-brimmed off- white alencon lace and she carried a spray of gardenias. The maid of honor was the bride's daughter, Cynthia Jane Weiss, a 1980 graduate of McHenry Community high school. She wore a mid- length dress of lavender crepe. The matron of honor was the bride's sister, Mrs. Judith Morrison of Sacramento, Calif. She was attired in a tan suit. They both wore a large, natural straw hat and carried a nosegay of daiseys and baby's breath. The duties of best man were handled by Richard T. Kreuser of Tampa, Fla. A mid-length print dress was the choice of the mother of the bride. The McHenry County club was the setting f<iif£a reception following jAJjte ceremony. The new Mrs. Kreuser j substitute school teac and her husband is retired. The couple will be making their home at 310 Country Club drive, McHenry.
