JOSEPH BACH MARRIED IN CHICAGO - Golgotha Lutheran church in Chicago, was the setting for the 4:30 p.m. ceremony April 19, uniting the former Carol Mickelsen, and Joseph Bach. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mickelsen of Burbank, III. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bach of Mcllenry are the parents of the groom. The liturgy was officiated by Reverend G. Vanderkloot. Attendants from the area include the junior bridesmaid, Tammie Mickelsen of Wonder Lake, a niece of the bride; groomsmen Cliff Morris and Dean Allen, nephew of the groom, both of Mcllenry. A reception was held in The Coach House Inn, Hickory Hills, III., for 150 guests. After a honeymoon in the Pocono Mountains, the newlyweds are residing in Mcllenry. The bride graduated from Regis high school, Burbank, in 1977, and is employed by Kemper Insurance company in Lake Zurich. The groom is a 1970 graduate of McHenry Community high school and is a maintenance mechanic in I.ake Zurich. DONNA GAYLORD AND ALBERT JOURDAN ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT - Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Main Street McHenry Invite Public To Dance In Lakeland Park The Lakeland Park P r o p e r t y O w n e r s association invite the public to participate in festivities scheduled for their Street Dance Sunday, Aug. 24. The location is the West Beach on Shore drive from 5 until 11 p.m Music will be provided for dancing after 7 p.m. Beer, brats and corn can be purchased at a nominal fee and free orange pop will be available. The widows and widowers group of Parents Without Partners Chapter No. 189 in Crystal Lake will have its next meeting Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 8 p.m. in Crystal Lake, and the subject to be discussed is "There's Happiness In Shrinking Skulls." Ice cream will be served after the discussion and everyone is asked to bring a favorite topping or con­ diment for making super desserts. The group meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month, for coffee and discussion in various members' homes, to discuss topics of interest and periodically plan special events. Observes Birthday Mrs. J. J. (Clara) Miller, 3810 W. Waukegan road. McHenry, celebrated her eighfy-ninth birthday Aug 14, at a surprise party given in her honor at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Louise Miller of McHenry. Those attending to share in the joy of this happy occasion were her three children; Mrs. Clarice Purvey of Crystal Lake; Mrs. Marie Kenney, with husband Bob, of Elkhom, Wis.; and Mrs. Terry Wiles, with husband Tom, of McHenry. Also present were four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miller has lived in McHenry all her life. Tickets to McHenry hospital's twenty-fourth Anniversary Dinner Dance, to be held Oct. 18, were distributed to members of the 15 mobile ICU squads in McHenry county and Western Lake county. McHenry hospital will celebrate its twenty-fourth anniversary with a dinner dance Oct. 18, at the Hunter Country club, Richmond, according to chairmen Mary A. Snyder and Dean C. Cunat. The dinner dance will help to underwrite the cost of the new antennas and micro­ processor control console which has been installed to improve communications between paramedics in the McHenry Seniors Announce Change In Meeting Time David Liehr, president of the McHenry Senior Citizens club announced there is a change of time for the evening meetings. Starting on Aug. 25, they will begin at 7 p.m. Wanda Zima, Program chairlady, encouraged members to bring their flowers and vegetables and arrangements to the meeting early. William Wilson and Kathryn Petertyl will be the judges and award ribbons. At the last meeting of the group, held at West campus Aug. ll, cash prizes were awarded to the lucky win­ ners and a good time was enjoyed by all. Elbert Schuberth, Bowling chairman, planned a special bowling afternoon Thursday, Aug. 28, 2 p.m. will be nine pin no tap and there will be prizes for men and women. Fall bowling will start the first Tuesday after Labor day and the bowling games are held at the McHenry Recreation. Three new members were introduced by Rose Lingle, Membership chairlady, and welcomed to the club; Ed and Laura Rossdeutcher and Betty Faber. Greeter, Evelyn Liehr announced 105 members were present and prizes were awarded to Kate and Gartze, Pat Gatlin, Virginia Curtis. John Doerr reported that a very happy group saw the thrilling Cubs game. Interesting programs scheduled for future meetings are the Union 76 singers; Ken Fiske, telling about nature study in McHenry county; and a speaker from the telephone company on "Science Is Not Magic". The League of Women Voters, which will again be sponsoring the presidential debates this fall, is an in­ dependent, non-partisan organization which seeks to provide information to en­ courage fuller citizen par­ ticipation in government.
