Sept. 5,1980) Singers Open Season The McHenry Choral club will begin a season of rehearsals Monday, Sept. 8, that will conclude with the singers' fortieth anniversary program next Spring. Practices next week will be in preparation for the annual holiday presentation the first weekend in December. All rehearsals are at 8 p.m. Mondays in the East campus music room. Anyone over high school age is welcomed into the mixed chorus.There is always a special need for tenors. A McHenry man was arrested after he threatened to strike McHenry Police Sgt. Patrick Joyce with a barstool at the China Light restaurant, at the corner of Green and Elm streets, last Saturday. According to McHenry police, Sgt. Joyce was waiting for another officer when the incident occurred. Michael Zeller, 22, of 702 S. Route 31, McHenry, became loud and when Joyce told him to calm down and go about his business, he picked up the barstool. An unidentified person relieved Zeller of the barstool. The police said Zeller then went after Joyce. A complaint was signed and Zeller was arrested Tuesday on charges of assault and battery. McHenry County Sheriff's police responded to a report of a disturbance last Monday and while attempting to restore peace at the home of James Race, 2507 Olive, McHenry, one of the people became uncooperative, refused to identify himself and pushed investigating officers. Charles Kegel, 39, of 200 Forest avenue, Fox Lake, was charged with ob­ structing a peace officer. Bond was set at $1,000. Sheriff's police were called to another dispute, this one occurring last Saturday at a home on Rich­ mond road, near McHenry. When the police arrived, the dispute had ended, but one of the participants left the residence in his car. Police saw the car driving in the wrong lane of Richmond road and stopped it. Roger Barbara, 20, of 112 Sheridan, McHenry, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and driving in the wrong lane. Bond was set at $1,035. When Sheriff's police arrived at the intersection of E. Wonder Lake drive and Wooded Shore, where another disturbance had been reported, they were told one of the participants had just left in a pickup truck. Hie police stopped the truck and arrested Michael Sullivan, 24, of 7514 Seminole, Wonder Lake, for possession of cannabis. Bond was set at $35. t A report of a man with a knife wound brought police to the emergency room of Memorial hospital, Wood­ stock. Douglas Fierstein, 22, of 6720 Giant Oaks, Wonder Lake, told police he had fallen on Woodstock Square and an open pocket knife had injured his leg. Muse, 20, of 2800 Myang, McHenry, was arrested by McHenry police for driving with a suspended license. On Sept. 1, Kurt G. Poger, 26, of 605 S. McHenry avenue, McHenry, was arrested after his car was seen traveling in an erratic manner. Poger1 was charged with driving while intoxicated and improper lane usage. Dennis S. Kopinski, 21, of Chicago, was arrested by McHenry police for driving with open liquor in a motor vehicle. Larry G. Bras tad, of 4526 Lakewood, McHenry, was ticketed for driving in violation of restriction. . Edwin G. Nyden, of 8433 Cicero, Chicago, was picked up by McHenry police for a Kane County Sheriff's department. that someone had inflicted the injury. A knife-wielding vandal slashed the tires of three vehicles Sunday night. Dale Anderson, of 515 Mineral Springs, McHenry, reported that two tires on his car had been slashed, as did Robert Sutton, of 103 Emerald, McHenry, and Janet Prather, of 5212 W. Hunter drive, McHenry. Ms. Prather's car had been parked at the Snug Harbor restaurant when the incident occurred. An auto abandoned on W. Wonder Lake road was found dented and with broken windows by police Tuesday. According to the police report, the parked car had apparently been pushed off the roadway by another vehicle. The vehicle owner, Lorrie Swearinger, of 506 Kimble, Wauconda, said the vehicle was in good condition earlier that evening. Donald J. Pedersen, 26, of 7310 Trey road, McHenry, was arrested by McHenry police after his car was stopped for driving with one headlight. The police said Pedersen got out of his car slowly and then fled into a nearby field.
