They are making their home in Richmond, where they both are teachers in the grade school. Diamond Necklace Worn Wearing a diamond necklace that belonged to her grandmother, Gayle Ann Readel approached the altar of Grace Lutheran church, Woodstock, Sept. 20, to exchange promises of marriage with Private Timothy P. Hughes. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Readel, 10209 Bull Valley road, Woodstock. Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Hughes, 2713 S. Tower drive, McHenry, are the parents of the groom. The 1 p.m. ceremony was conducted by Reverend Kenneth Anistrand. Special music was offered by soloist Burdette Harris, who also sang at the bride's parents' wedding in 1957 The bride wore a white silesta knit gown styled with a sheer yoke, high neckline, and sleeveless bodice. Silk venice lace appliques and pearls accented the neckline and yoke. A short capelet was edged in matching lace, and a full A-line train was adorned with lace at the hemline. Her fingertip mantilla, edged in matching silk venice lace motifs, was held by a mini-cap of the same lace. She carried a cascade of baby's breath, stephanotis, white roses and ivy." A friend of the bride, Mrs. Bernard (Connie) Gehris of Woodstock, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaid was Mrs. Rick (Denise) Fisher of Wonder Lake, the groom's sister. Attendants were attired in blue knit gowns styled with a gathered bodice, spaghetti straps and a full A-line skirt. A short matching jacket with a gathered, draped yoke, was secured at the front with self ties. They carried dainty, colonial bouquets of white roses, stephanotis, tiny blue silk flowers and baby's breath. Similar flowers adorned their hair. The duties of best man were handled by a brother of the groom, Edward J. Hughes, II, of McHenry. Mark Readel of Woodstock, a brother of the bride, was the groomsman. Ushers were a brother of the bride, Todd Readel of Woodstock, and Rick A. Fisher of Wonder Lake, a brother-in-law of the groom. Approximately 150 friends and relatives toasted the newlyweds at the reception held at the Woodstock Moose lodge, Woodstock. The couple took a trip to California, where the groom is stationed in the U.S. Marine Corps and they will reside in Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif, upon their, return. The bride graduated from Woodstock high school and the groom is a graduate of McHenry Community high school. A luncheon, miscellaneous shower was hosted by Denise Fisher and Kim Hughes, sisters of the groom, and Connie Gehris, a friend of the bride. Photo-Ed Powers Double Ring Ceremony Grandparents fitness Vows St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg, was the setting for the Sept. 20 marriage of Karen Ann Weidner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Weidner, 5716 S. Solon road, McHenry, and Benjamin James Swantz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Swantz, Route 1, Stoddard, Wis. Father Leo Bartel of­ ficiated at the 3 p.m. double ring liturgy, before an altar decorated with galdioli and carnations. Special music performed by Roger Schiller included "Wedding Song", "Beginning Today" and "Morning Has Broken". Readings were by the father of the groom. The bride chose a white quiana and taffeta gown trimmed in venise and schiffli lace. The fitted bodice was accented with an empire waist, a high banded neckline and long, straight sleeves. The A-line skirt flowed into a cathedral train, edged in matching lace. A picture hat, echoing the venise and schiffli lace treatment, held a long veil edged in lace, which was gathered in a bustle. She carried a cascade of sweetheart roses and stephanotis, with ivy. The maid of honor was a friend of the bride, Linda Koffend of McHenry. Bridesmaids were Joan Buch of Wonder Lake, a sister of the bride; Jody Butler of McHenry; Cori Conway and Karen Huebner, both of McHenry ; and Cathy Boak of San Diego, all friends of the bride. Attendants wore dusty rose quiana dresses, styled with an empire waist and spaghetti straps. A long sleeved jacket completed the ensemble and both were trimmed with burgundy piping. They carried a cascade of white carnations and ivy, enhanced with burgundy ribbons. The best man was Bill Murgatroyd of McHenry, a friend of the groom. Groosmen were brothers of the groom, Ted and Tony Swantz, both of Stoddard; and friends of the groom, Bill Effinger of Lake Villa; Dale Zamastil and Scott Letzter, both of McHenry. Ushers were brothers of the bride, Ronald and Vernon Weidner, both of Spring Grove. The mother of the bride wore a mauve quiana dress with a V-neck, long sleeves and accordian pleats. A mauve quiana, two-piece dress with long sleeves and a cape was the choice, of the groom's mother. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Johnsburg Community club for 275 guests. The newlyweds will reside in their own home in McHenry when they return from a wedding trip through Wisconsin and Minnesota. Both are graduates of McHenry Community high * school. The bride is employed as a secretary for Kemper In­ surance, and the groom is a carpenter for J. S. Blake Construction. The bride was honored at three prenuptial parties. One was given by Pat and Janet Weidner and Joan Buch; the second by Linda Koffend, Jody Butler, Lori Conway and Karen Huebner; and the third was hosted by Karen Anderson and Fran Bland- ford. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Spearman, 460 E. Mowry No. 119, Homestead, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kelley, Route 2 Central, S.C. are the parents of the groom. The 3 p.m. ceremony was performed by Reverend Boyce Whitman, at Gap Hill Baptist church, Six Mile, S.C. The groom's sister, Glenda Stewart, provided appropriate music. The bride chose a white floor length gown of chan- tilly lace and her white fingertip veil was trimmed with the same lace. Both were accented with baby pearls. She carried a bouquet of chrysan­ themums, daisies and baby's breath. The maid of honor was a sister of the bride, Robbie Spearman of Charleston, S.C. Groomsmen were Garin Barth of Clemson, S.C. and a brother of the bride, Bill Spearman of Homestead, Fla. ' A reception for 100 guests was held in the Social hall of the church. After a honeymoon in Gattlenburg, Tenn., the couple will make their home in Central, S.C. Both are 1980 graduates of D. W. Daniel high school in Central. She is employed as a clerk and he is a butcher for Bi-Lo supermarkets. Rummage Sale Scheduled For Oct. 11 and 12 The Ringwood church will hold its Fall Rummage sale at the church on Friday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. until noon. There will be many styles to pick from in the clothing line, and a new wardrobe can be picked up at a reasonable price. There will also be a lot of treasures for sale and on Friday, there will be coffee 'and' for everyone's enjoyment. Parishioners will be working at the church all week, pricing and sorting the merchandise. Help is needed for marking and anything donated can be brought to the church on Monday, Tuesday or Wed­ nesday of that week.
