The handsome actor, who has been playing teenage alcoholic Tim Werner on CBS-TV's "The Guiding Light," has no time for wild parties, all-night carousing and boogying till dawn. In fact, all he does is work. And boy, how he works! Besides holding down his spot on "Guiding Light," Kevin is also starring in an off-Broadway play, working on a major movie and plotting the course of his acting career. How does he do it? "I'm a good napper," the 22-year-old bud ding star chuckled. "I can grab a quick couple of winks between takes. Even if everyone's yelling and screaming and running around, it doesn't bother me." But the backbreaking routine of the daytime TV superhunk has some of his friends shaking their heads. "They keep warning me to slow down, but I can't," he said. "I'm a workaholic. I know that. But work is just about the only thing I find stimulating." Kevin is on the go so much these days that he didn't even slow down at Christmas. "Everyone else took a break from work, but I couldn't. The whole time over the holidays, I only spent a few hours with my family, and I even slept most of that time." The TV idol has an appropriate explanation for his obsession to keep busy. "I know what it's like to be a starving, unemployed actor," he said. "It's like a violinist with a broken arm. If you stay idle too long, you'll lose your talent." TV BACKSTAGE: TV heartthrob Erik Estrada has turned his back on marriage! The macho star of NBC's "CHiPs" says he is through with serious romance after the agony of his shattering divorce from 40-year-old socialite Joyce Miller, who is suing him for almost $2 million. That's not to say that Erik is turning his back on the fairer sex. He has been around Hollywood with a bevy of beauties since his short-lived marriage fell apart. There have even been rumors that he will tie the knot with Beverly Sassoon, the former wife of hairdressing tycoon Vidal. But Erik says nothing could be further from the truth. "I've been wounded very badly," the handsome 31-year-old actor admitted. "I was madly in love, and it ended in disaster. It will be a long time before a lady does that to me again." Insiders say that Beverly's four children from her previous marriage don't exactly have Erik jumping for joy. He got a taste of stepfatherhood in his first marriage but now wants his own kids. TV CLOSEUP: Wake Up or Die! America is a non technical accounting to the American people and the concerned world. It provides realistic solutions for our en vironmental predicament and, for the first time, provides the American people with solutions to counteract misery, chaos, and certain death that inaction would bring. The book is a realistic assessment of our present situation and is written for each and every American who wants civiliza tion to continue and flourish. Inaction will turn our world--the only one we have, into a dead sphere of rock and poisoned air. Take the test--'Do you know how to survive?' It's enclosed with each book. The national cam paign was launched in the nation's capital during late March.
