Thirteen Organizations Sponsor Pageant Entrants Thirteen organizations return as sponsors for candidates in the 1981 Miss McHenry County pageant, an event that originated in 1949 and has become an integral feature of the an­ nual McHenry County Fair. In addition, Union will have a candidate, bringing the total entries to 14. Don Peasley, coordinator for this contest which in­ volves many communities in McHenry county, said the annual pageant will be presented on the Wed­ nesday, Aug. 5, opening night of the McHenry County Fair. Reigning as the current Miss McHenry County is Jane Titus, a blonde beauty from Cary. The 1961 candidates will have their first meeting in July. Entry deadline is July 1. Young women 16-21 wishing to become a can­ didate qualify through participation in their local contests. Dorothy Kleckner, Harvard, is chairman of the Miss McHenry County pageant.
