Lakeland Park & Lakeland Shores Carol Cominsky 385-7246 Install New Club Officers The next meeting of the Lakeland Park Property Owners association will be Thursday, May 7. It begins at 8 p.m. in the Community House, 1717 Sunset. The new board members elected at the last meeting will be installed. Patricia Buhrman is president; vice-president is Hank Sadowski; secretary is Lois Kasper; and treasurer is Frank Sweeney There will be a discussion on the various projects the association plans to un­ dertake this year. A man will also be on hand from the Environmental Protection agency to talk to the group WOMANS CLUB The Lakeland Park Womans club elected its new officers at the meeting last month. They will be installed at (he next meeting, Thur­ sday. May 14 at the com­ munity House beginning at 6:30 p.m with a pot luck dinner The new president is Barb Burke; vice-president. Sue Danielson; secretary, Bernelle Lovett; and treasurer, Frances Kostka The annual luncheon card party was a big success April 28 and three lucky people went home with a nice prize First place went to James I^arson, second place to Meg Oakford and third to Rosemary Pretsznic COMMUNION Dan and Barb Burke's children. Daniel and Bar­ bara. made their com munion at St. Patrick's church Sunday, May 3. Their adopted grandmothers, Ruth Roach and Marie Cross accompanied them when they received their com­ munion. Their brother Mike and sister Denise witnessed the occasion and everyone went to a local country club for a delicious breakfast right after the church ser­ vice. SCOUT NEWS The Brownies from Troop 464 and Girl Scout Troop 320 participated at Nickel day in the city park on Pearl street last Saturday, May 2. Everyone agreed it was a really fun day The Brownies also helped plant a tree at Vallev View school on Arbor day, along with the Valley. View Cub scouts IT'S A BOY! George and Mary Beth Heuer welcomed their fifth child April 21 Stephen Michael made his ap­ pearance at Memorial hospital for McHenry county, Woodstock weighing 8 lbs., 2 oz. He was welcomed \ home by 14-year-old George, c ^JO-year-old Kristie, nine- year-old Bethie and three- year-old Carie WEDDING BELLS ' Saturday, April 25 was a very joyous day for Norb and Aggie Lewakowski. Their son Ken was married to Robin Dawley at the justice of peace in Woodstock at 9:30 a m Aggie served a fan­ tastic dinner for 20 members of their immediate families in her home that afternoon Robin's mother Lelia Dawley prepared all the food for the reception that was held in a hall in Wauconda at 6:30 p.m. All 125 guests had a great time dancing the night away. The newlyweds waited a week before taking their honeymoon in Wisconsin We send our best wishes to Ken and Robin Susan Moore, Michelle Corcoran. Brian and Brenda Danielson and Jennifer Maliszewski. I thought it was very nice that Sharon had all the kids write their names on a place mat. then dropped it by my house after the party. Judging from previous presentations, this will be excellent entertainment, which you should not miss. The students deserve a lot of credit for all the work that has been put into this production. PRE SCHOOL at the high school celebrated two birthdays last week "Happy Bir­ thday" to Christopher Dohrn. who was 5, April 29. and Genevieve Pomonis, who had her fourth birthday April 26. Both children celebrated their days with the class A special day is set aside to celebrate birthdays of all children whose day falls during the summer months. The June party will take place Tuesday, May 12, for the 2 and 3-year-olds. The July-August birthdays will be Thursday. May 14 The 4 and 5-year-old class June party will be Wednesday, May 13. and July-August will be Friday, May 15 The graduation ceremony of the 4 and 5-year-olds, will be Friday, May 22.
