In addition to his parents, he is survivied by two brothers, Juan and Jerry, and a sister Vickie at home. Other survivors are a maternal grandmother, Evelyn Wardell of McHenry and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Matoe Bahena of Taxco Gro, Mex. He was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Harold Wardell, Feb. 16, 1969. No visitation is scheduled at the George R; Justen & Son funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, 2 p.m. at Woodland cemetery, McHenry. Memorials are requested to the Memorial hospital for McHenry county Expansion fund. a JOHN SCHMITT John N. Schmitt, 82, of Pacific Palisades, Calif., formerly of the Johnsburg area, died Friday, June 26, in California. He was born Sept. 12, 1898, in the John­ sburg area and lived there most of his life. Mr. Schmitt had been a 'farmer and mechanic and for many years was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Johnsburg. He is survived by his wife Rose E. (Potokar) Schmitt of California; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Delores) Overton of McHenry; a son, Warren Marven Schmitt of Pacific Palisades; and a sister, Mrs. John (Agatha) Thelen of McHenry. . He was preceded in~Heath by his first wife Rose; a son, William J.; five brothers, Matt, Stephen, Joseph, Bernard and the Rev. Nie Schmitt; and three sisters, Emma Bertrang, Clara Smith and Catherine Sch­ mitt. Visitation will be Wed­ nesday, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. and a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. FluMarar services ^rilT be conducted Thursday, 11 ..a.m., at St. John's church with burial in the church cemetery. JACOB GREGORY Jacob J. Gregory, 67, of 1824 N. Woodlawn Park, McHenry, died Saturday, June 27, in McHenry hospital. He was born July 23,1913, in Allouze, Mich, to Bartoj and Mary (Jackovatz) Gregory. A McHenry resident since 1971, formerly of the north side of Chicago, Mr. Gregory was affiliated with Our Lady of Lourdes church; em­ ployed by C.&N.W. Tran­ sportation Co. 38 years where he worked as a station master and other positions in the terminal, until his retirement in 1975. He was active in the Legion of the Moose and the McHenry Moose Post No. 691, where he served as treasurer. In addition to his wife Gertrude, nee Fischer, he is survived by three children, Mrs. Art (Bonnie) Lefebvrg of Chicago, Michael Gregory of Glen Ellyn and William Gregory of McHenry. Other survivors inlude two sisters, Mrs. Anna Maynarich of Redford, Mich, and Mrs. Sylvia Solberg of Fon du Lac, Wis; and two grandchildren. , He was preceded in death by his parents and 15 brothers and sisters. There will be no visitation at the George R. Justen & Son funeral home and burial will be private. The family requests memorials to the McHenry Area Rescue squad.
