Let's have a 100 percent tunout for this informal worship hour in the spirit of "Former" Methodism. FAMILY REUNION Family members traveled from all parts of the United States to attend the reunion of the Nelson clan at Shirley and Bill Cristy's home last Sunday. There were about 100 in attendance, with some of the folks meeting for the first time. The senior members of the Nelson family present were Clara Cristy, her brother George Nelson of Madison, and three sisters-Julia Nelsen of Colby, Wis., Esther Granberg of Oshkosh and Mabel Godfrey also of t Oshkosh. It was a very happy time for everyone with much visiting, a softball game and accordian music for en­ tertainment. Also three birthdays were celebrated. CHICKEN BARBEQUE If you have not already purchased your tickets for the chicken barbeque to be held Saturday, July 11, at the Ringwood church, they may be obtained from Alice Mae Wilcox of Woodstock, Marge Evans of Wonder Lake, Althea Walkington and Doris Low in Ringwood, Alice Peet and Katy Christopher in McHenry. SERVICE NEWS & Serves On Kitty Hawk Navy Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Robert G. Cowles, son of Robert L. and Ruth D. Cowles of 3108 W. Bull Valley joad, McHenry, has deployed to the Western Pacific. He is a crew member aboard the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk, homeported in San Diego. During the seven-month cruise as a unit of the U.S. 7th fleet, the Kitty Hawk will be participating in training exercises with other 7th fleet units and those of allied nations. Port calls are scheduled in Hawaii, the Philippines, Singapore and Australia. The Kitty Hawk is 1,062 feet long, carries a crew of 2,800 and can accommodate 2,150 personnel and 85 jet aircraft assigned to an at­ tack aircraft wing. ENROUTE TO WASHINGTON-Street, that is! Rybak, daughter of Medard F. and Eireen A. Ryback of 1511 N. Riverside drive, McHenry, has completed recruit training at the Naval Training center, Orlando, Fla. During the eight-week training cycle, trainees studied general military subjects designed to prepare them for further academic and on the-jog training in one of tne navy s 85 basic occupational fields. » Included in their studies were seamanship, close order drill, Naval history and first aid.
