Fun At The Ballpark Here are a few IMfcigs that I don't miss about baseball because of the player's strike: The 1-0 games that lull everyone to sleep.. The prices to attend these games ...The fee just to park your car, or indulge with a brat and a beer...Let's make it the prices in general. What we're paying for...Players who command six-figure salaries, become injured, miss the rest of the season and still get paid...Players that can't hit their weight and still opt for free agency...Owners that give these guys what they want. Players that earn at least one million dollars annually, there's about a dozen of these guys...Hearing how has-been reliever A1 Hrabosky makes 1.1 million from the Braves without hardly ever picking up a baseball. Tolerating the drunken, obnoxious guy sitting next to you in the stands...Being baptized by beer and having debris thrown on you...Being flattened by your fellow man for a foul ball Wasting a sunny Saturday afternoon at the ballpark . Going 35 m.p.h. on Bullpen By Carl Moesche the freeway...Waiting for hours to get out of the parking lot after the game is over...Finding ketchup or beer spilled on your car...Not finding your car. Second games of doubleheaders.. .Twi-night doubleheaders that go extra innings...Having the Twins and the Blue Jays for television's Saturday Game of the Week...Looking at the White Sox uniforms. Listening to Reggie Jackson bitch about being unhappy in New York, or was that Oakland or Baltimore?...Trying to guess what team Dave Kingman will be on next week...Having players get arrested for illegal drugs and getting off with a slap of the wrist. Having your favorite player traded to the Mariners...Or worse yet to a contender in your division so he can come back to haunt you...Having one of your bubblegum heroes leave for Japan. Listening to Baltimore manager Earl Weaver degrade an um pire... Listening to the radio for the progress on the player's strike and believing that you've been listening to a recording for the last 30 days.
