If not, you undoubtedly wish you did. You can shoot all these memorable moments as easily as you can make an instant photograph by following these simple tips Sankyo, the movie people, have put together: • Make sure you have film in the <^jmera. Seems basic, but some people do forget to check. • Always keep your camera in a handy spot so you can cap ture the unexpected. • Hold your camera steady at lightweight, compact units. • Don't use the zoom as if it were a trombone, and use it sparingly. Zoom one way only for best effect. • Frame your shots accu rately. What you see in the viewfinder is what will appear on the screen. • When panning, pivot from the waist. Do not move the cam era -- only your body. If you think you are panning slowly, go more slowly still. • Move in close on your sub ject. Not being close enough to your subject is one of the most common mistakes people make when shooting movies. • Change the composition of ydur movie by changing the hooting distance or angle of shooting. When shooting chil dren, always shoot from their level, j. \ • Don't make your scenes too short; about eight to 10 sec onds is just right unless, of course, you are filming a con tinuing action. Keep camera handy To keep the family jnemories which are happening today, keep your moJte camera handy so you'll be ible to capture and hold all the precious memories.
