The results of the U.M.Y. bike-a-thon are not in as yet. Anyone who has not donated but wishes to, may leave their contribution at the church next Sunday morning after services. After the young people finished their ride and walk, they returned to the church for a light supper. CHANGE IN U.M.W. MEETING Instead of meeting in the home of Arline Pearson, the ladies of Ringwood U.M.W. will meet at the church Thui^day, Nov. 12, at 8:30 to drive to Rockford to qifaond the bazaar of the Lesley Willows, home for senior citizens. SURPRISE THIRTIETH Kevin Bauer, who became a big 30 on Oct. 27, was given a surprise birthday party by his wife Lynn on Saturday, Oct. 24. Lynn planned a 'McHenry Trivia" contest to entertain the guests who arrived to wish Kevin well. They spent about an hour to an hour and a half getting the answers to a list of questions given each group of people. Examples are: "How many parking places at the well known ham burger place?" "How many bar stools at one of Kevin's favorite hangouts'1" There were about 45 guests who enjoyed this "McHenry Triyia" contest and the tasty buffet-that was served in- cly$jig a delicious cake and the shape.'30',.' had been preparing for tWQfweeks on this and it was a job to keep it secret from Kevin. Kevin was presented with m^qy unusual and comical gifts. "Hey, Kev, do you think, those panty hose will keep you warm on that new snowmobile you got? , ABOUT TOWN Mrs. Anna Betts has returned home from the McHenry hospital. J.C. Pearson also is home and doing well. Martha Betts is hospitalized and doing fine now. She has had many test and hopefully will be home by the time this comes out in the paper. United Cerebral Palsy serves a 10-county area including McHenry county. Palsy and other related disabilities to have as much of a normal life as possible. The outreach program offers a variety of services to their clients and-or families, mainly serving the function of case manager and a support unit. The goal of the Outreach caseworker is to assist clients and their families to be as independent as possible. The goal encompasses four components of services: Linkage and referral; advocacy: public education and information. The outreach caseworker will assist families in finding solutions to many of the problems that handicapped individuals encounter.
