I Anne Sowers Wonder Lake 653-9549 i Present Sacred Concert PAGE It - PLAINDEALER - WEDNESDAY. MARCH 17,1982 Kindergarten Registration Kindergarten registration for the 1982-83 school year is scheduled for Friday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at Harrison school. Signs will direct parents to the registration room. In order for a child to enter kindergarten in the Fall of 1982, he or she must be five years old before Dec. 1,1982. An information letter has been sent to the families of children known to be of kindergarten age, but if any family has not received this letter, they should call the school office at 653-2311 and one will be sent to them immediately. Appointments for three, four and five-year-old pre schoolers will also be made on Friday, March 26, for vision and hearing screening. This screening will be done at Harrison Friday, April 23. It is free, but every child to be screened must have an appointment. If there are any questions regarding either kin dergarten registration or pre-school screening, parents may call the school office at 653-2311. WHO'S CONFUSED? After looking over my column in last week's paper, I was in a state of confusion, which I'm sure any reader was! To start the column, you were told that kin dergarten registration for Harrison school would be held in Johnsburg. That wasn't my fault - really - but it was a goof somewhere along the line. I have repeated that section the way it was supposed to read so future kindergarten parents will get it the correct way today. After that, things were okay until "Special Days." The only explanation I have for that one is that I'm very anxious for Spring to get here, so I had my thoughts ahead one week. I'll try harder today to keep my dates straight. BOY'S BASEBALL REGISTRATION There are still two registratidh days left for boys, eight to 16 years old, who wish to play ball this season with the Wonder Lake Boy's baseball. Registration will take place at Christ the King from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be separate fees for one boy, no matter which division he will be playing in; two boys; and three or more. Tryouts for team placement will be held in April, so it is important to be registered in time. BOOK REVIEW A book review by Van Sells will be the entertainment for the March 18 meeting of the Woman's Club of Wonder Lake. The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. in" Nativity Lutheran church hall, located at 3506 E. Wonder Lake road, with the program following. Hostesses for the evening will be Gladi McGibbon, Marge Dugan, Betty Knauf, Jan Jensen, <and Diane Olson. Guests are always welcomed, so if you would enjoy hearing a book review, join the members on March 18. SPECIAL DAYS March 12 marked the eighty-seventh birthday of Paul Amundsen of Wonder Center. Pets-At-Large Are Nuisance ' The first board meeting of March was held Tuesday, March 9, at 8 p.m. at the beach house and the problem of cats and dogs running at large was brought up. If you love your pets, please keep them penned or on a leash. If you no longer want your pets, why not contact an animal shelter. Animals that run at large are a nuisance to your neigh bors and to other animals that are penned or chained. If interested, cat traps are available from Animal Control in Woodstock. Health and Welfare Trustee Tom Olson has more in formation on this subject. Village Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each and every month of the year.
