»i«K Itt-I'LALNDICALCK - WEDNESDAY, OCTOBEKI3.IS82 MCHENRY SHORES Nino Keen 344-2665 Lnjoy Lovely Fall Season Welcome to Fall! Along with the beautiful Fall colors that are starting to appear, and the somewhat cooler weather. Fall also brings earlier darkness. This is a good time to remind all drivers to keep an extra ove open for children still playing outside at dusk. Please be aware of small children on bicycles or playing on or near the street. It is difficult to see them during that hour between light and dark. WELCOME HOME Our best wishes to Benny Ragusa, who is now home and reportedly feeling fine, after his recent hospital stay. Along with celebrating his good health, and recent homecoming, Mr. and Mrs. Ragusa celebrated their wedding anniversary Oct. 6. We send our good thoughts and wishes for both Mr. and Mrs. Ragusa for many more years of happiness and good health. FAMILY CELEBRATION Here at the Keen household, we recently celebrated a combination of events, starting with the Baptism of our Michael on Sunday, Sept. 19, at St. Mary of the Assumption church here in McHenry. Michael was blessed to have two godmothers, and a godfather doting over him, with Mary Lou Heald, our good friend from here in the Shores, and my aunt and uncle, Dave and Doris Durston from Niles, doing the honors. What a lucky child he is; what loving and beautiful people they are! To make this beautiful, sunny and warm day even more special, was the presence of my sister Peggy and her husband Quentin Sisco, all the way from Seattle. Along with celebrating their long awaited visit, we also were celebrating my mother's birthday. It was a day of much joy and hap piness, smiles and hugs, and it was wonderful to be surrounded by so many good friends and loving family! It was a day we will all long remember! BIRTHDAYS Happy belated birthday wishes to little Kendra Kumpula who turned six oh Oct. 6; and to Phillip Tobeck, who was eight on Sept. 30. Hope your days were filled with fun! CALL WITH NEWS I know our faithful readers have missed not seeing our column quite as frequently as of late, and not to be sounding like a broken record, you all must know that this column's sheer existence depends on my hearing from you. Contrary to popular belief, I do not sit up nights, making all this news upland in order to keep this column alive, I must hear from all of you out there. - So, once again, I urge, no I plead with all our Shores readers (and I know there are so many of you!) to give me a call (my number is still at the head of this column) and let me know what's new in your end of the Shores, who's having a birthday at your house, or better yet, if you have any ideas for things you'd like to see covered in this column please give me a call and let me know. I can be reached most anytime, but evenings are best. I want to hear from all of you! "Happy Fall!" For good luck when taking a written test, some say to use a new pen or pencil, because it has never made a mistake.
