Available fall, winter and spring, by week or weekend. 312-629-7712. 9-29-10-22C Special Problems Of Women Women often lack the sort of career development model that is commonplace for then. Young women entering industry today are often their family's first generation of female business people. They often lack the career perspectives that men provide for their sons. Male co-workers are unaccustomed to working with women of equal or higher managerial rank and men are sometimes ill at ease in such situations. Some men attempt to disregard or circumvent directives or suggestions by female executives. Married women face the dilemma created by their spouse's career aspirations and their own family responsibilities. Success in any field has always required hard work and tough decisions and both careers have to be considered in family decisions. In t he wor ld o f business, males dominate and the "old boy" system is still strong. Women often do not know the people in power or have the right professional contacts. Women need to "network" to develop contacts to get ahead in business. New job leads, information and advice about business deals are often passed on through an informal network.
