Betancourt captured firsts in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:17.7. She also captured the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:03.0. Clewis was the winner in the 100 yard but­ terfly with a time of 1:41.1 and Blume was timed at 6:26.1 in her first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle. Blume also took a second in the 50 yard freestyle with a 27.9. Also earning a second was Danielle Johnson in 200 yard medlay with a time of 2:51.6. Skyhawks Split The Johnsburg Skyhawks had a two game stint in which they opened up with a non-conference win over Marengo on Monday and lost to conference foe, Grant the following day. The split gave the1 Skyhawks a 9-4 record in the Northwest Suburban Conference and a 104 overall record. The Skyhawks had a easy time with the Indians of Marehgo, winning the first game 15-5. Laura Nichols led all scorers with six straight points and Threasa Hauck had three spikes. Game two was much of the same. With the score tied 7-5, Junior Kelly Hart was put into the game. She served five straight points to give the Skyhawks a 11-5 advantage. The Skyhawks won by a 15-11 score. Hauck led all scorers with six spikes and one kill. Against Grant, Johnsburg took a 15- 6 beating at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Skyhawks didn't communicate according to Coach Sharal Koenigseder. They ended up losing by a 15-11 score. Thresa Hauck led the team in sets with 17 and she had four spikes. Julie Anderson took the top spot in spikes with six to her credit. The Skyhawks play one final match before regionals.
