I shed no tears for Billy Martin when he was recently bounced from his managerial throne at Oakland. Billy has been a scrappy winner ac a player and manager. We wer- sometimes amused at his antics. Election time in our country is when candidates spend millions in ad- veritsing to tell us all the faults of their opponents. I still remember years back when an Old Timer gave his description of a candidate who would smear the reputation of another person to help himself politically. Some things you don't print in a nice, family newspaper. I have been reminded by church members not to eat too much before a couple of big dinners coming just around the corner. A fellow can get mixed up on seasons of the year. People have been calling these beautiful days a late Indian Summer. Couldn't believe it, but a big ad showed spring fashions for the ladies. Wonder where the winter went. However, when they kept showing his actions on the TV screen during the world series, it0 turned my stomach. ;i Lately when it is time to get out of the sack, I think "Give me 10 minutes more" and turn my pillow over to the cool Side. s Come the week-end time change and I'm using that hour we lost last spring. Reault told the group at the kick-off. in the hospital's $1,600,000 drive will canvass only McHenry hospital Auxiliary-Volunteers for personal pledges. From handwriting sam ples, one may determine the mental, emotional, and physical traits of prospective employees, to see if they are suited for the job.
