Kozicki, 64, of 4320 W. Clearview, McHenry, died Sunday, Jan. 30, in McHenry hospital. He was born May 11,1918, in Chicago, the son of Frank and Julia (Lewandoski) Kozicki. Mr. Kozicki was a retired truck driver. On Nov. 21, 1940, in Chicago, he married the former Catherine Breier who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Kathleen) Schaffer of McHenry; two sons, Dennis and Thomas, both of McHenry; one brother Stanley of Chicago Heights and a sister, Mrs. Irene Balachowski of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Raymond; and a sister, Florence Stasiak. A Funeral Mass was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry, and burial was in the church cemetery. Visitation was private at the Freund funeral home, Wonder Lake. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's church or the Cancer society. CLIFFORD JENSEN Clifford J. Jensen of McHenry died Sunday, Jan. 30, at his home. He was 65 years old, born in Ladysmith, Wis. Sept. 20, 1917, to Axel and Clara (Holter) Jensen. Mr. Jensen lived in McHenry about 25 years, having come from Palatine, 111. He had been a foreman for Modine Mfg. Co., Ringwood; and was a bartender many years at Snug Harbor and the McHenry Country club. Survivors are his wife Catherine "Sandy" (Sandidge) whom he married Jan. 19, 1946, in Chicago; three sons, Keith and Kenneth, both of McHenry, and Karry of Elgin, 111.; two grandsons, David White and Kevin Jensen; a brother Wesley of California; and two sisters, Mrs. Lyle (Mavis) Anderson of Wisconsin and Mrs. Ray (Ardis) Lanzillo of Des Plaines. He was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen Ann White, in 1973. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Peter M. Justen & Son funeral home, with Paster Roger W. Developed with the theme "Because You Love Your Baby - There's Never Been A Better Time To Quit", the pacakage is designed to inform the pregnant woman who smokes about the hazards of her habit to her unborn child. It motivates her to quit and gives her help in kicking the habit. It also gives the health care provider the materials' to give clear explanations to expectant mothers of the health risks of smoking during and after pregnancy. The package contains informative and motivational materials for use bv pregnant women, and an in-depth counseling guide, flipchart, posters, and tent cards for the health care provider in clinics, hospitals and private medical offices. Local training workshops for health care providers are also planned in connection with the 1983 Smoking and Pregnancy program to further assist health providers in their counseling efforts. The American Lung association estimates that there are ap- Fred Carroll Best Speaker At its regular meeting Jan. 24, the McHenry Area Toastmasters club held an Off-the-Cuff contest at the First United Methodist church, to determine who, among its members, is the best extemporaneous speaker. The contest divided the mem bership into three flights, with each flight speaking on a different subject (unknown to the speaker until he reached the lectern). The three winners of the flights were Barb Riley, Wonder Lake; Fred Carroll and Henry Gass, McHenry. The topics were of the type that required creativity, ingenuity, and imagination. Truth was not required. A run-off topic was then addressed by the three winners. By vote of all of the membership, Fred Carroll was selected as the best extemporaneous speaker for the McHenry Area Toastmasters club. Investigate • Pub Burglary McHenry police are investigating a burglary at St. Regis Pub, 1237 N. Green street, McHenry, which netted the thief approximately $1,500. According to McHenry Police .Chief George R. Pasenelli the break-in was discovered the morning of Saturday, Jan. 29, when employees opened the business. The chief said the money was taken from the office area and no forced entry was detected. The in vestigation into the burglary con tinues. This is the second burglary at the establishment in four months. On Oct. 2,1982, someone broke into the office area and made off with about $1,700 County police are investigating the theft of tools, tarps and office equipment from Northern Materials Transport, 451 Sheridan road, McHenry. No forced entry was noted. Paul Crawford left his truck run ning for five minutes to warm up at the King's Row tavern, Wonder Lake, and when he came out the truck was gone. Set Fireworks Display July 4 Confirmation of July 4 has been made for the 1983 fireworks dislay at Petersen park. Tim Althoff, chairman of the Fireworks committee of the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, made the announcement Monday. Althoff said, "Each day of the three- day weekend was considered. But it was determined that the display should take place on Independence day itself (Monday) in order to fortify the purpose for which this celebration was reinstituted in McHenry two years ago. McHenry county received $31,024.77 for 711.68 miles of road. Motor fuel tax funds are allocated monthly to the various townships and road districts for their highway needs. The monies allocated are computed on the basis of mileage in the individual townships and road districts. These units of government must levy a tax for road and bridge purposes to be eligible for motor fuel tax allocations.
