McHenry County Senior Citizens' Council plans to sponsor a series of Sunday Brunches a' i's Meet & Eat centers throughout he county where seniors can share companionship, enjoy good food and help themselves. The first of these special events will be a Valentine's Day Brunch on Feb. 13, at the Crystal Lake Meet & Eat center. 133 Illinois street. Jacquie Johnson, kitchen manager at McHenry County college, will be the guest chef. There will be two seatings at 10 a.m. and noon. The first menu will include an egg dish, a selection of fresh fruits, bacon slices, fruit jello, "Mother's homemade bread pudding", and three kinds of tasty rolls and pastries. These brunches will be on a pre-paid reservation basis. All seniors are invited to attend and bring guests of all ages. UMW Slates Slide Presentation The next United Methodist Women's General meeting will be held Thur­ sday, Feb. 17, at noon, beginning with a potluck luncheon in the Fellowship hall, with the Priscilla Circle as hostess. The program will be, "I - A Child Advocate", a slide presentation by Katherine Green of the Lake Bluff- Chicago Homes for Children. Everyone is invited and urged to attend as it should be a most in­ teresting program. Civic Group In Party Mood Valentine's day will be a little more festive this year for residents of Royal Terrace due to the efforts of the McHenry Junior Women's Civic group. A holiday dinner with corsages and boutonnieres for the guests, Valentine gifts and a pastry cart with homemade desserts are only some of the plans in the making. Members of the club will act as hostesses, waitresses, chefs and bakers for this special occasion. The McHenry Junior Women's Civic group, a non-profit organization, is made up of concerned women who want to not only better their com­ munity but also do some nice things for nice people who need a little help and attention. Membership in this club is open to all who want to donate at least four hours a year to a community project or some other worthy cause. The next meeting will be held Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal church, 3706 W. St. Paul's avenue. All in­ terested persons are encouraged to attend.
