The general public is invited to participate in the ceremony to be conducted at 11 a.m. by the bar association with Judge Roland Herrmann presiding. Presentations will be made to gtjgffept essay cqntestwinnersaijd the,, Liberty. Bell award will be given to a deserving county resident, according to R. Maqk Gummerson of the Law day committee. He said the bar association's theme, Sharing in Justice, emphasizes that3 like shareholders in a corporation, every American citizen holds stock in the joint venture called American justice. The theme relates that each citizen is given shares in America as an inheritance passed down from generation to generation, an inheritance which has incresed in value for two centuries. These shares...freedom of speech, the right to a trial by jury, the right to privacy, the guarantee of equal treatment under the law, the benefit of laws regulating labor, pollution and business, and the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty, among hundreds of others...give every citizen an interest in American justice. The Law day theme tells citizens they can vote their shares in American justice by working for J candidates, [ telling their representatives how they want them to vote, serving as a juror, voting thoughtfully and intelligently, and volunteering time to better their neighborhood, school, town or city. "Citizens have an obligation, to themselves and to their families and neighbors, to share in the making of justice. Don't let someone else make it for you. Justice demands your par ticipation. Justice demands sharing," according to the Law Day theme. Confusion On Village Board Although it is two weeks since the election, confusion still exists in the village of Sunnyside. Only two of the four trustees who will serve Sunnyside village govern ment were sworn in last week. Lillian Pomonis left the meeting and was not sworn in for a four-year term. Cathy Rogers, who was elected to a two-year term, said she left after the meeting was adjourned' and also ' was not installed. When asked Monday morning, Village Attorney Donald Truckenbrod did not comment as to when the swearing in of Ms. Pomonis and Ms. Clark would take place.
