The program began in February and the debate students, Lisa Mazzoni, Todd Weiler, Laura Dworniczek and Suzy Wipper, under the direction of Mrs. Gloria Burke, have been meeting weekly with the fifth grade children to give them instruction and guidance in the project. The young students, all members of Mrs. Betsy Les' reading class, spent numerous hours researching their topics during school as well as on their own time. The Hilltop students involved in the program were Cheryl VanDeWege, Simon Sullivan, Julie Simek, Michael Diedrich, Cindy Lockwood, Charlene Craft, Christy Johnson, Tracy Johnson, Jason Eckert, Dave Landin, Danny Sweetwood, Shannon Dean, Schott Johnson, Mike Haase, Robert Nemtusak, and Mike Molina.
