Down town McHenry 815-385-4050 ' r 5/13TF5/1STFC m FIESTA LOGO-"McHenry: Seasons Four!" Hits is the 1983 overview of the Fiesta Days logo as adapted by McHenry artist, A1 Cajthaml. "Parade applications are now available for" the giant event that completes Fiesta Days", Trey Covalt, * 1983 parade chairman announced Monday. "With all seasons of the year as the theme, we are offering a wide-open and very adaptable concept for parade participation. We encourage all clubs and organizations, as well as businesses, to have an entry in this year's parade. The theme relates to all activities - in season or out - that McHenry so aptly provides. Any group should be able to translate this theme into a humorous or beautiful representation for their group. We also encourage musical groups to enter: walking or riding," he added. Float-making in itself is a group activity the Chamber of Commerce feels can provide hours of fun - as well as hard work - and can build bonds of friendship along with the float. But the C of C realizes hand-crafted flpats are not always in the realm of feasibility for a wide variety of reasons. However, a chamber spokesman said anyone can adapt a ready-made float to the 1983 theme and provide a proud entry and vehicle for an organization with no work involved. Full color pictures of these - professionally-made floats are available at the Chamber office. Custom float making can also be arranged at pre-determined rates. Costumed walking units of Scouts, teams, or similar groups of any sort are also welcomed. Among the early entries that have already been arranged for are the famous Clydesdale horses, the Great Lakes Navy band, the beautiful circus wagon that climaxed last year's parade, and the twentieth an niversary float of the McHenry County Historical society. This year's judging of the parade entries will begin before the parade to provide the judges more time and space to evaluate each entry. But presentation of each entry dining the parade will also score points for form, and artistry in the total tally. There will be more trophies awarded this year, and the winners will be an nounced at the bandshell at Pearl street park after the finals of "Family Feud" which follows the parade. Complete details on "Family Feud" will appear next week. Parade applications are available at the Chamber office at 1257 N. Green street.
