"I'm absolutely sure that if people sample the show, they'll say 'yeah it's fun, it's refreshing, it's a breath of fresh air. It's silly. I can tune in and laugh for half an hour and then go back to the more serious side of life,' " s,ays entertainment entrepreneur Clark, the show's co-execu- tive producer. The show gets its name from the notion that it tries to cram one hour's worth of comedy into a haif-hour tfme slot. There's lots of quick cuts, sight gags, old gags, new gags. The show is hosted by an odd couple -- stand-up comedians Arsenio Hall and Thorn Sharp. Hall is black and in his early 20s; Sharp is white, preppy and older. "They are literally two very different people, but you get the feeling they've been working together for many, many years," says Clark. There's an ensemble cast as well as cameo.appearaac- es by such stars as Joan Collins. Burt Reynolds, Richard Pryor and Stevie Wonder. I've had projects on against 'Gone with the Wind,' 'Kramer vs. Kramer,' Dallas,' 'Dynasty,' 'Dukes of Hazzard' and '60 Minutes,' most of which have survived.
