Bed Race For Dystrophy McHenry's second annual bed race for Muscular Dystrophy presents a roster of many new entrants as well as returning teams whose experience has been converted into more efficient engineering and greater deter­ mination. The end product should produce challenge difficult to be bested. In order to qualify for the racing, each bed must have a minimum of $150 pledged to the Muscular Dystrophy foundation, but to qualify only for the judging of the "Best Dressed Bed", only $25 in pledges is required. Registration by the teams and parking of the beds begins at 3. Official judging for "Best Dressed" begins at 4. The audience is welcome to begin their judging for "Audience's Favorite" any time after the beds arrive. Voting is done by coins sited and those proceeds go to t the deficit of the 1963 fireworks. The teams participating in this July 23rd Fiesta Days event in Pearl Street Park are Fashion Shoppe, Firemen of Company I, First National Bank, Flying Dragons, Old Bridge Tavern, Southgate Beauty Salon, Mar-Ray Costume Shop, P.M. The 1983 judges are Doug Rankin, executive director of the Woodstock Opera House; A1 Querhammer, McHenry county coroner; and Stu Cohen, news editor for radio stations WIVS and WXRD. Awards will be given at the end of the bed face and the finale act is one whose reputation is well known. Parks & Recreation Zoo Field Trip Take a trip around the world to observe rative animal groupings in their natural habitats at the Milwaukee county zoo. The City of McHenry Department of Parks & Recreation is now taking registration at city hall for this Thursday, July 28, field trip. The registration deadline is Friday, July 22. The fee for this field trip includes the ticket and transportation to the zoo.
