If the game holds up, McHenry is the owner of a 6-5 win. All six McHenry runs were scored in the third inning. Starting pitcher Pat Dunn yielded four Algonquin runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to pull out the win. "Dunn pitched a fine game," said Russ Williams,'the McHenry coach. "Hie kids played a pretty good ballgame. We have been scoring a lot of runs: We just need consistent pit­ ching." McHenry's game with Genoa City Monday was rained out. McHenry now has two games to make up with Genoa City. McHenry ends its McHenry County American Legion Tennis Tournament The fourth annual City of McHenry Tennis tournament will be held this year as a beginning activity of Fiesta Days. A total of 32 teams will be participating and entries must be received no later than July 27 by the tournament director. Gary Schmitt and Kevin Bauer are the tournament directors. UC Assistant Coach Mark Pittman, a native of Wonder Lake, was appointed part-time assistant to head coach Tony Yates on the University of Cincinnati basketball coaching staff. The 28-year-old coach previosly worked with Yates on the University of Illinois staff as a volunteer during his senior year in 1977. For the past two seasons, he worked as an aide for the Illini. Pittman's main responsibilities at UC will be scouting and checking the academic progress of the players. Following graduation from •Uinois in 1977, he served as an assistant basketball coach at Rich Central High in the south suburb of Chicago for the 1978-79 year. He moved to Waterman High School as head coach and compiled a 26-22 record in two seasons. Pittman was a graduate of Wood­ stock High School where he competed in basketball, baseball and cross country. Tigers Powered By Homers In Win The first Bull Valley Hill Climb will be held on Sunday on Valley Hill Road. Registration will take place from 8 to 8:30 a.m. on race day at the site. Pre-registration will take place at the Crystal Lake Nautlis Health Club. The Contest features two heats per racer on a very steep .4 mile hill. There will be several age classifications, with the minimum age at 16. Home runs by Brian Wilson, Gary Schnulle and Tim Frantz, plus a four- for-five day from Woodie Jaskowiak helped the Johnsburg Tigers defeat Marengo 17-4. Jake Breit picked up his first win of the season, allowing seven hits in six innings pitched. The win raised the Tigers record in the Northern Illinois Baseball League to 8-2. The Tigers are tied with Algonquin for the top spot in the league. The game was close for the first three innings, with the Tigers leading 5-4 on the strength of Gary Schnulle's solo homerun in the third inning. Rookie Colberg and Woodie Jaskowiak led off the fourth with singles and both scored ahead of Brian Wilson's line shot home run to left center field. With the score 10-4 going into the sixth, Dave Maurer led off with a single, the start of a seven-run inning.
