The bride-to-be is a graduate of McHenry high school and the future bridegroom graduated from Crystal Lake Central h|gh school. They are both employed in Crystal Lake. Heard of McHenry was recently honored at the Swedish Glee club in Waukegan, 111., on the occasion of her eightieth birthday. A party hosted by her two sons, James N. Heard of McHenry and Richard A. Heard of Ingleside, 111., and their lovely wives, was attended by family members and many guests. ,v Out-of-town relatives included Mr. Thorwald A. Foxvog of San Ber­ nardino, Calif., who will be 95 this coming November, and the celebrant's two sisters, Mrs. Jennie ft. Evensen of Charleston, 111. and Mrs. Ruth J. Young of Blooming ton, Jnd. Among all the beautiful greetings received was one from President Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy. Mrs. Heard has been a volunteer in the Pink Lady Gift shop at McHenry hospital and will complete her thir­ teenth year of service Sept. 9. In October, she will attend the Convention of the National Federation of Grandmothers Clubs of America, Inc., accompanied by the president of McHenry Charter No. 826, Mrs. Blaine Day. It will be the forty-second annual convention and will be held at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani hotel in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. Following their wedding Aug. 6, the former Barbara Sharon Kuck, 7009 Hiawatha, Wonder Lake, and Donald Lawrence Klapperich, 4414 Poplar Leaf, McHenry, left for a one-week tour of the southern states, including Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi; taking in the sights, swimming and recreating. The bride is the daughter of Walter and Gerry Kuck, 2505 W. Country lane, McHenry. John and Clara Klapperich, 5207 Barnard Mill road, Ringwood, are the parents of the bridegroom. / Father Novak officiated at the 1 p.m. nuptials in the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry, before an altar decorated with two large floral arrangements and a background of organ music. The bride's gown was of white lace and silk, flowing into a four-foot train. Her veil, fashioned in three tiers, was hand made by her long-time friend and future sister-in-law; and she carried white and red roses. Attending her friend as matron of honor was the groom's sister-in-law, Patricia Klapperich of McHenry. Bridesmaids were Patricia Wagner of Rock Falls, 111. and Susan Shafran of Berwyn, 111. In a rainbow theme, attendants were attired in pastel shades of blue, green, and lilac for the matron of honor. The A-line dresses were floor length; and to complete the look, their headpieces were sun bonnet hats with long bows, echoing the print on the sleeves. Their bouquets contained all three colors. The flower girl was the groom's niece, Rachel Klapperich of McHenry. She wore a light, bright peach dress, trimmed with lace, and carried a matching flower basket. Serving his brother as best man was David Klapperich of Woodstock. Groomsmen were Bernard and Robert Klapperich, both of McHenry. The ring beam was Sean Donald Klapperich of McHenry, the groom's party tuxedc ' and the Godson of the couple. The male members of the bridal E were all in light, creamy taupe edos, each with a shirt trimmed with ruffles matching the girls' colors. The mother of the bride chose a lilac formal; and an orchid formal was the choice of the groom's mother. Both were adorned with white carnation corsages. A reception was held at the McHenry VFW hall for 100 friends and' relatives. The new Mr. and Mrs. Klapperich both graduated from McHenry Community high school. She studied art at McHenry County college and is presently employed as a secretary for Kemper Insurance company. He took some business courses at the same college and is currently an installer for Western Electric. They will be residing in the groom's home in Johnsburg. The bride was honored at a miscellaneous shower-luncheon hosted by Patricia Klapperich and guests attended from Berwyn and Wooddale. Freund-Adams Wed In Church Of St. Mary Of The Assumption In a setting of white and pink gladioli, in the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption, McHenry, the former Lee Ann Freund, 3415 W. Venice, McHenry, and Michael K. Adams of Ingleside, 111., were united in marriage Aug. 6. The Reverend David Hueser performed the 2:30 p.m. ceremony and readings were given by a cousin of the groom, William Adams. The bride is the daughter of Dorothy M. Freund and Lawrence G. Freund, both of McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth M. Adams, also of McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. The bride wore a white gown of poly-organza, styled 'with a sweetheart neckline and Bishop sleeves, enhanced with Chantilly lace and pearls. The circular skirt, sweeping into a chapel length, scalloped train, repeated the treat­ ment of Chantilly lace and organza. Her -fingertip veil, highlighted with Chantilly lace, was secured to a Camelot headpiece. She carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations and baby's breath, accented with a white orchid. Her ears were adorned with diamond earrings, a gift from the groom; and she carried a white lace hankie which had belonged to her grandmother, Mrs. Edward Pfan- nenstill. A sister of the bride, Jacqueline A. Miller of Bosque Farms, N.M., acted as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Joyce Adams, and the groom's cousin, Cindi Adams, both of McHenry. They were gowned in white Chantilly lace over pink knit chiffon, trimmed with pink satin bows. The ruffled bodice was worn off the shoulder, and the full, hooped skirt was embellished with a ruffle of pink knit chiffon and ribbons. They carried white lace parasols, graced with pink and white carnations and daisies. The best man was Robert Ken- nebeck of McHenry and groomsmen were the groom's brother, Dave Adams of Palm Springs, Calif, and the bride's brother-in-law, Gerald J. Miller, Jr. of Basque Farms, N.M. The ring bearer was the bride's nephew, Phillip L. Miller of Bosque Farms; and ushers were the groom's cousin, Jay Adams of McHenry and the bride's nephew, Darryl J. Miller of Bosque Farms. The mother of the bride selected a gown of cracked ice tulle in hot pink, Senior Walk-In Center Meals are served Monday through Friday at the McHenry Walk-In Center beginning at 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made by 1:30 p.m. the day before at 385-8260. The menu for the weeek of Aug. 15 through Aug. 19 is as follows. Aug. 15: Chicken Divan, baked potato, cole slaw, banana, assorted breads, milk. Aug. 16: Hot dog, potato salad, green beans, jello salad, cherry tart, milk. Aug. 17: Oven fried fish, tarter sauce, tater tots, scalloped corn, beet pickle on lettuce, assorted, breads, spice cake, milk. Aug. 18: Stuffed peppers, wax beans, garden salad, muffin, chocolate pudding with whipped topping, milk. Aug. 19: Ham and cheese roll-up, tater tots, Brussels sprouts, one-half peach, bread, brownie, milk. length skirt. The groof chose a classic gown of shirknit fabric in hot pink, with a V-neckline, empire waist appointed with a matching rose and full length skirt. A waist length cape lightly covered her arms. The bride's stepmother, Mrs. Lawrence Freund, wore a sheer grey organza jacket, with pink appliques, over a grey, street length, V-neck dress with spaghetti straps. Before leaving on a wedding trip to Wisconsin, the newlyweds were toasted by 225 guests at the Branded Steak House in Crystal Lake. The bride graduated from McHenry Community high school and is em­ ployed at Tab Design Service, Inc., Woodstock. A graduate of Marian Central Catholic high school, the groom is employed by Professional Plumbing, Addison, 111. They will make their home in Crockett Estates, Ingleside. Ten Year Reunion Monday, August 15 is the deadline to make reservations for McHenry Community High School's Class of 1973 reunion. The 10-year reunion will take place Saturday evening, August 20, at Andre's Steak House in' Richmond. The theme of the reunion is "celebrate good times". LIONS CORNFEST The Island Lake Lions invite the area public to their annual Cornfest Sunday, Aug. 21, from noon until 6 p.m. in Porten's park on the Fox River. The park is in Porten's sub­ division off Robert's road, south of Island Lake. There will be free ad­ mission and free corn. AH proceeds to go toward local and International Lion projects. MR. Mr. Stauffer's brother Lynn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was unable to make the trip to McHenry, but his wife Maxine came to attend the dinner and share the joy of this mdnentous occasion. Anita came to Chicago with her family, in 1927, from her birthplace, Superior, Wis. The couple met at the Continental bank, where Anita also found em­ ployment. After retiring, the Stauffers lived briefly in Wolf Point, Mont, .and then in Cedar Rapids, coming to McHenry in 1969.
