The couple exchanged wedding vows July 16, before Pastor H. D. Boyer, during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony in Grace Lutheran church, Omro, Wis. The bride is the former Julie Rae King, daughter of Wayne and Gloria King of Omro. Ralph and Kathy Lamb of .Neenah, Wis. are the parents of the bridegroom. A reception for approximately 300 guests was held at Winro hall in Omro. The bride graduated from Omro high school and is presently employed as a waitress at Warsaw Inn, McHenry. A graduate of Neenah Armstrong high school, the groom received a B.A. degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and to currently the Sports Editor for the McHenry Plaindealer newspaper. Jaycees Hold 50's-60's Dance The McHenry Area Jaycees are sponsoring a dance Saturday, Aug. 27, at the American Legion in McHenry, from 8 p.m. to l a.m. The theme of the dance will be "The Glory That Was Urease" and will feature music from the 50's and 60's. Special guest will be a famous oldies DeeJay, who will bring one of the finest oldies collections in the Midwest to McHenry. In addition, dance contests, prizes and refreshments will be available. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund the many community projects of the McHenry Area Jaycees. Tickets are available through the Jaycees or at the American Legion the night of the dance. Surprise Anniversary Party The family of Jerry and Louise Miller, Oakwood drive, McHenry, surprised their mom and dad with a fortieth wedding anniversary party on .July 29, with approximately 75 guests present It was held at the home of their daughter, Carol Ann Hunt and son Randy, in McHenry. Also involved in the plans and preparations were the couple's other three children, Jerry Jr. and wife Jackie of New Mexico; Janet Lloyd and husband Gerald of Woodstock; and Paul Miller and wife Beverly, also of New Mexico; along with all of their nine grandchildren. Among the others attending were Louise's sister Marge and her husband Dick Young; Jerry's sisters, Marie (Miller) Kenney and Terri (Miller) Wiles; most of their nieces • and nephews; and many close friends. A variety of refreshments were served and a good time was had by all. Cesarean Film Showing Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock, is sponsoring a showing of the film "A Shared Cesarean Beginning" Monday, Aug. 22. at 7:30 p.m. in the south pavilion conference room at the hospital. The film documents the experience of a young couple as they prepare for, and share together the cesarean birth of their second child. The documen tation of the birth and spontaneity of the young parents makes the events of ihe delivery room touching as well as informative. Anyone interested is invited to attend. The couple was united in holy matrimony Aug. 13, during a 3:30 p.m. ceremony officiated by the Reverend Gordon Shafer, in the First Methodist church, Woodstock. The bride is the daughter of Vernon and Jean Schiller. 533 N. Draper road, McHenry. Robert and Georgina Beck, 901 Rotting lane, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. Charla Pierce, organist, and Jack VanKanegan, violinist, accompanied Lori Merrill as she sang "Evergreen"; and Maureen SerriteUa, singing "Truly". Jack also played "Endless Love" during the lighting of tbe Unity candle. The altar was decorated with pink and white gladioli, carnations and roses; and the pews were graced with white ribbons and greenery. The bride wore a white poly-chiffon gown featuring a high neck of em- lace with threads of The leg-o-mutton sleeves to the cuffs of embroidered Schiffli lace and iridescent threads. Tbe fitted bodice was highlighted with Venice lace appliques, embellished with tiny seed pearls and sequins. The bodice was a perfect balance for the natural waistline and full skirt. The full circular skirt of pleated chiffon was bordered with Venice lace and satin ribbons, ending with a satin laced edge. The chapel length train was also bordered with Venice lace and satin ribbons. Her English bridal hat of em broidered Schiffli lace was accented with tiny seed pearls and a large silk rose to the side, surrounded by tiny silk flowers. The chapel length veil was flowing from a high standing pouf of veiling, centered at the back of the hat. She carried a presentation bouquet of silk red roses and greenery, enhanced with white flowing ribbons. In keeping with the sentimental mood, she wore her grandmother's pearl necklace, (Bernadine Springman); great- grandmother's ruby and opal rings, (the late Lesta Baker) and great- great-grandmother's gold pin, (the late Susanna Engle). The maid of honor was the bride's friend, Carol Latz of McHenry. Bridesmaids were sisters, Lora Schiller of Chicago, Sue Schiller of McHenry and Linda Puckett of Lisle; the groom's sister, Renee Beck of McHenry; and friends, Mary Beth Adams of McHenry and Yung Mi Kim of Chicago. They were a vision in white and pink. White English net tunics with mutton chop sleeves and stand-up collar topped a pink spaghetti strapped underdress. The waltz length overskirt of shirred pink chiffon was edged with English lace. A pink satin ribbon belted the tunic to give a trim and demure look to the ensemble, which was designed by the bride. They carried an arrangement of rosea and greenery. Flower girls were cousins of the bride, Nicole Fischer of Marengo and Michelle Poinow of Woodstock. They wore pink dreases to the at tendants', adorned with pink ribbons and lace; and carried decorative baskets filled with rase petals. The best man was a friend of the groom, George Worts of McHenry. Groomsmen were the groom's brothers, Robert Beck, Jr. of Batavia and Russell, Randall and Ronald Beck of McHenry; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Puckett of Lisle; and friend, Mike Behan of McHenry. They wore black slacks, white jackets, and dusty rose ties and cummerbunds. , **., Hie bride's mother was radiant in a waltz length, spring green dress of silk and lace. The spaghetti strapped bodice was topped with a laced jacket, tied at the waist, and elbow length sleeves. The accordian pleated skirt added to her fresh, cod look Pearls and pink roses complemented the ensemble. The mother of the groom <freued for her son's summer wedding in a fresh flowing, waltz length gown of white chiffon, printed with lavender sprays. The boat neckline and full elbow length sleeves completed the blouson bodice and petal point skirt. A lavender ribbon belted the dress to add the final touch. A reception for 160 guests was held at Hunter Country Club, Richmond, 111. An aunt, Arlene Poinow of Union, designed and made the arrangement for the top of the wedding cake; and flower girl baskets; aunt and God mother, Lesta Panke, and Arlene Poinow cut the wedding cake; and another aunt, Nancy Pope of Wood stock, circulated the guest book. Special guests in attendance were the bride's grandparents, Richard and Bernadine Springman of Woodstock; and the groom's grand parents, Robert and Harriet Sommers of Ohio and Margaret Beck of Florida. The newlyweds both graduated from McHenry West campus high school in 1979. She received a Bachelor's degree in Interior Ar chitecture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and is a com mercial interior designer for Roman & Roman, Ltd., Chicago. He received an Associates degree from McHenry County college; is continuing his education at Northern Illinois university, DeKalb, for a degree in Communications; and is employed by Frito-Lay, St. Charles. Newlyweds Plan Honeymoon In Beautiful Pocono Mountains, PA The Poconos in Pennsylvania provided a beautiful, romantic setting for the honeymoon of recently married Mr. and Mrs. Pliner. The former Kelly Dietz of Waukesha became the bride of David Pliner of McHenry Saturday, Aug. 13. The Reverend Herman Graef was the officiating clergyman for the 4 p.m. nuptials performed in Zion Evangelical Lutheran church, McHenry. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Dietz, W263S2338 Cam bridge avenue, Waukesha, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pliner, 3715 W. Maple street, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. CORRECTION Anita and Charlie Stauffer celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary July 29 at the McHenry Country club. Mr.' Stauffer's brother Lynn and his wife Maxine, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, came to attend the dinner and share the joy of this momentous occasion. Charles was born in Cedar Rapids and came to Chicago in 1926, where he worked at the Continental bank for 42 years. Anita came to Chicago with her family, in 1927, from her birthplace, Superior, Wis. The couple met at the Continental bank, where Anita also found em ployment. After retiring, the Stauffers lived briefly in Wolf Point, Mon. and then in Cedar Rapids, coming to McHenry in 1969.
